Aaron Eaton learned how to shoot in the Army back in 2006 but holstered a pistol for the last time when he left in 2009 and took a job as a technician for a sewer company. That all changed on March 26 when the father of four walked out of an Alabama gun store with a Beretta 92FS, the same gun he handled as a military policeman at the height of the Iraq war."Simply put: I wanted peace of mind when it comes to the safety of my family," Eaton said. Eaton's pistol was one of 2.3 million firearms to fly off the shelves in March,

Owning and knowing how and when to use firearms is paramount. Good for these first-time buyers. But, the Beacon should have also highlighted the dangers of liberal takeover of states and local municipalities at which time they will enact their little gun control legislations. Don't let them succeed. They would like nothing better than to confiscate your guns and ammo. In particular, a dim-controlled congress and a dim President would mark the end of gun ownership as we know it.

Future Republican voters, hopefully. The dictatorial democrat Governors and Mayors are doing everything possible to disenfranchise their liberal, thought they loved socialism base. I love it.

So far, so good. They all sound like reasonable, intelligent individuals who've finally seen the light. Right about now, they're probably all wondering why they didn't do this a long time ago.
This latest surge has prompted me to dust off my NRA Instructor credentials. I plan to go to on of the local establishments that offers CCW classes, and volunteer my services to make sure they all learn the correct way.

I think Maryland has closed gun shops as well. It's just as well. Obtaining a gun in Maryland is a long drawn out process. That is unless your a criminal. Then one could probably get a gun within an hour. The whole virus BS will be over by the time one goes through the maze of regulations.

Get proper training, people, and learn how to properly clean the weapon.
Lesson #1 for semi-automatics; Dropping the mag does not necessarily render the weapon "unloaded."

Could there be a worse way for you or your family to go than defenseless against an evil, remorseless butcher? Won’t happen in my house, and apparently in many others.

Like the new owner said in the last line, "safety first and practice, practice, practice."
Yes, get some good training, read and understand your state laws on self-defense.

According to my friendly gun dealer about a month ago, if it isn't on the shelf he cant get it. Ammunition on the shelves was zero. Things may have lightened up since then but I doubt it. I'm going back tomorrow to check.

If you didn't have your guns before now, and a stockpile of ammunition, you're way behind the curve.

With all these lily-livered demonrat governors letting felons out of prison right and left to prey on the public, you'd be utterly stupid not to go out and buy a gun to protect yourself and your kin.

We are going to see a lot of strange stuff coming up; better be prepared. When people see money arriving they will think of every way possible to relieve you of it. Even the gypsies showed up. Worse yet, Dems will do everything possible not to have the election in Nov.

Regrettably, I did not participate in adding to the number of firearm purchases in March. But, I am proud to report that I have added to the number of firearm purchases in April.

There is a nice rustic metal emblem on our back door: "We Don't Call 911". Perhaps you've seen them.

I trust nothing that comes out of Washington DC. Remember what Ronald Reagan said, " the scariest words you can hear are, I work for the government and I'm here to help".
