Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz has asked an obvious question, one that has not Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz has asked an obvious question, one that has not come up at the daily White House coronavirus press briefing -- why is the Wuhan Virology Lab a grantee of the National Institutes if Health, whose National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) -- headed by one Dr. Anthony Fauci -- and a recipient of $3.7 million to study coronavirus in bats? Gaetz has gone beyond mere curiosity, writing a letter to HHS Secretary Azar demanding the grant be terminated:

Maybe Dr. Fauci would like to come forward and explain. I can understand research but funding it to a lab in China with a history of dangerous contamination issues should have never happened. Dr. Fauci had to know of this because grants are written with very specific guidelines, etc. Although $3.7M is a drop in the bucket in todays' world, we should not be funding something like this with China. This is disturbing.

Dr. Fauxi was ready to jump and say that the virus was not from a lab yesterday. Now we know !

Oh please everyone knows why it was funded. The answer is ....wait for it... because we cannot do that kind of research here. The same reason we can't build toxic green things like windmills that when they reach their life expectancy which is about 20 yrs we can't get rid of the debris because it is toxic just like solar panels. DUH the Politicians all know this but they refuse to reveal these nasty little facts to the public who then might stop buying those nasty things that sit on your roof and are a fire hazard. No one ever talks about that little fact either. Basically you are sitting with a live electrical grid on your roof which you cannot turn off. Think about that one when you consider that the firefighters could not spray water on it.

Please send this to any alumni you might know: "If you go to the Wuhan Institute of Virology website ad look under “Partnerships” you will see listed “the National Institutes of Health of the United States” along with the likes of the University of Alabama, the University of North Texas, Harvard University,..."

It's because that's what the US Government does, fund any and every agency around the world that has a three letter title, especially if one of the three letters is "I" for Islamic. Certain countries get priority, usually the ones that hate us most.
Yes, there are guidelines and grant rules but when the top grant winners are chosen, the rules go out the window and the money is sent to friends of friends in our government and those willing to remit the biggest kickback to the friendly congressperson who approved it. Ask Joe Biden about that but don't expect much of an answer. It's the same way contracts are awarded to corporations that work on government projects. You can build a jet fighter for under a hundred million dollars? Forget it, we want the deluxe model.
Money set aside for foreign relations? Don't forget the Palestinians, Zimbabwe or the Pygmies of Malaysia.

I asked myself that exact question. Why are we giving money to a virus lab in China? We can't investigate coronaviruses in this country? Maybe it was cheaper to investigate viruses in China than in the U.S. How'd that work out Fauci?

We outsource everything else, so why exclude biological research. The NIH appears to be another rogue government institution. Hey Schiffty, how investigating the NIH. Haul Dr Hindsight before your committee.

Since this US Government funding going to the Chinese laboratory, where US and Allied intelligence believes is the place where the virus was allowed to escape through unsafe practices, funding that commenced during the Obama-Biden Administration era, you have to figure that this was just another ill considered Obama-Biden initiative that is now coming back to bite America big time!
Now Joseph Biden is out there claiming that the virus was allowed to get into America because President Trump has not been tough enough in dealing with China, but called Trump a racist and xenophobe when he immediately shutdown all travel from China to try to stop the mass importation of the virus into America. Beyond that, while on the campaign trail, Biden has been telling his supporters that he has been dealing with Chinese leaders for many years and that he believes that China is not a legitimate competitor to the US economy or a serious threat to the USA? You have to ask, at the moment does Biden know which way is up? In that respect, would you want to put Biden who is clearly undergoing diminishing cognitive abilities in command of the US strategic nuclear arsenal? Clearly at the moment the Democrats intend to do that.
