Wednesday on CNN’s “Situation Room,” network White House reporter Jim Acosta accused President Donald Trump of “really highlighting some of his authoritarian impulses.”Acosta said Trump was doing so by claiming he can do “whatever” he wants with states regarding the pandemic coronavirus recovery.Today at the coronavirus task force briefing, Trump said, “We have the right to do whatever we want,” on reopening or closing down states.Acosta said, “I think what we are seeing this week with the president’s response to the pandemic, it that it is really highlighting some of his authoritarian impulses.”

I guess Trump should have said he had a phone and a pen. Acosta is a hypocritical nitwit.

Acosta needs his own opinion-based show. He should not be passed off as a reporter of news.

Anti-democRat is back. Been on the back bench for years on Lucianne life support after a unresolvable login issue.
Couldn't sit back after seeing another Acosta TDS display. No president should have to give access to a hack like this. VSGDJT has been the opposite of authoritarian and continually shows almost perfect example of the constitution in action.

Jim, when you are in the White House Press Room, you are there as a reporter. You are not there as a political commentator or opinion based talk show host. If you want your own talk show, talk to your bosses at CNN. Otherwise, save your opinion and grandstanding thinly disguised as questions for someplace else.

Acosta and his communist buddies in congress highlight the reason some governments kill or imprison the opposition when they win. We here in the US find that practice odious, but I understand it better now.

Today the President of the USA has to be tough to deal with a tough world where there are adversarial governments and other dissident elements trying to take advantage of the USA 24/7. Today those foreign and domestic dissident elements recognize that there currently is effectively a Junkyard Dog in the Oval Office who always puts the health and welfare of the American people and the US economy first. They know that to get rid of him in favor of a globalist corrupt politician with declining cognitive abilities who believes that China is no competitor to the US economy or a threat to America that they had first to severely damage the US economy. See what is happening?

We really need to recognize that Acosta has decided that his way to fame and fortune is to attack the President.
This is not because "Acosta is a jerk" or because "Acosta is stupid", or "Acosta is rude".
This is because Acosta is playing us all, working to become a well known name, by whatever means possible.
We need to ignore this little piece of garbage.

When Asscostas name is in the headline or the article synopsis, I don't read it, because it's not news, it's just grandstanding, gotcha questions. I guess I miss a lot of PDT's putdowns but that's a small price too pay to avoid this twit.

What frightens me the most is that people tune in and believe Acosta, and talking heads like him, are telling the truth.

I am really looking forward to November when the American People enthusiastically reelect Trump and give solid control of the Congress back to the Republicans. I am eagerly anticipating the shock and despair of the dems/media/Left at their well deserved beatdown.
Hopefully Nasty Pelousy will retire and we will finally get the goods on Shiffty's and Nadless' dirty dealings. The only people the media will have to talk with is the Squad and Mad Max which are at Acosta's level.

What he is highlighting is what vile, corrupted and rotted souls populate the media profession. That is what he is highlighting. Acosta thought being a spoiled brat was the way to get an anchor chair on one of the networks, but in reality, nobody wants to deal with such an infantile manchild.

Emergencies aren't the proper time for group-think. Somebody has to be in charge. Somebody MUST be the adult in the room and Acosta, you're not it.

The Dems and the MSM just do not understand what powers a POTUS has versus the individual states(states rights).
They blame it on POTUS (when he is a republican) saying he didn't do something when in fact he doesn't have the power to do something. Bush did not have the power to order the evacuation of New Orleans.
They started out saying Trump did not react in time but in fact he didn't actually have that power to react.
Now Trump goads them by saying he will reopen the economy and they say he doesn't have the power.
I think Trump made that statement just to toy with them and get them to endorse states rights for a change.

#21, I hope you are right. Otherwise President Trumps comment didn’t make any sense. He has been saying just the opposite for so long and it looks like he gave them a needless opportunity to bash on him. Hope he knows what he’s doing. I’m confused.

Dear Diary -
That awful Donald Trump was so mean to me again today... (sniff, sniff)
And that yummilicous Andrew Cuomo still doesn't know I exist!
I even dropped "accidentally" dropped my hanky in front of him while he was walking by talking with his friends today and HE DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE!
I need a super-intelligent question to ask Trump tomorrow...
I know - I'll ask him "Do you wear boxers or briefs?"
He'll never expect that! And it'll make Andrew jealous!

Obama repeatedly overstepped the limits of his authority in the constitutionally defined separation of powers. And when the enemedia wasn't just ignoring it, they were even praising it (calling it things like boldness or being proactive).
Trump is overstepping his authority vis a vis the states, and the enemedia are uniformly excoriating him. In that, they are showing some of their partisan double-standard. To be fair, though, Governors are the chief executives of their states, not legislators or judges. Their authority within their states is a little more like the President's in the federal context.
