President Donald Trump leveled a new threat at Congress Wednesday, threatening to try to force Congress into adjournment in order to install additional conservative judges and other nominees – just days after clashing with governors of his 'absolute' power to force them the country to reopen. The president made his case in a speech at the start of Wednesday's White House press conference, which came just a day after he retreated on his claim of having 'absolute power' to compel governors to rescind their stay-home orders amid the coronavirus outbreak. He blasted senators for holding up judicial and administrative nominees,

Donald don't warn or threaten the Democrats again just do it and make your appointments. Tell them and the media to go pound sand.

Why would there be a constitutional crisis if the President takes an action that the US Constitution gives him the power to do? The only crisis would occur among the squealing Democrats.

If you are not already aware the Daily Mail is a ‘rag that hates DJT and will always sensationize the big and small news items. When Piers Morgan was editor of DM he told a reporter to get hired by the Palace and take photos of the private residences. He then published them and the Queen was horrified. He is a phony wannabe POS.

Article 2 Section 3 of the Constitution clearly gives him thge power to adjourn Congress.
The problem is purely, 100% on McConnell for his damned fake "pro forma sessions " done totally for ONE reason, to block Trump from making recess appointments.
McConnell is married to the daughter of a ChiCom army general.
What a coincidence.

If my memory serves me correctly, the senate deliberately choose early in the term of PDJT 2017- (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/senate-gop-blocking-trump-from-all-recess-appointments ) "to hold pro-forma sessions every few days" and not formally recess in order to keep him from making recess appointments - something every president has done and Obama abused. No doubt he either approached someone in the senate about this and did not get the desired response or he just finally tired of playing (or being played by) their game.

Don’t understand or trust Senate Republicans. Let’s start the list w McConnell and Graham — they act friendly, ‘til they don’t.
(Mutt is on another list.)

The Congress is ignoring the Constitution, not the President. The Congress is AWOL during this national crisis, not the President! God bless the President for his faithful leadership throughout these challenging times. We don't know how he does it! Thank you Mr. President!

The Congress has already left the building, literally! The President is faithfully fulfilling his Constitutional duties in the WH, on the job! It is good to know Pres. Trump takes his oath of office to heart. ...Too bad the Congress has no such integrity evident, as they are AWOL!

If Congress isn't there and doesn't plan to be there in the months to come, they've defacto adjourned. Get going on the appointments Mr. President. Let those incompetents take it to court. I don't see how the Court could rule otherwise.

Trump needs to take a few days off. He's losing it and everyone is pouncing harder now because he is making dangerous mistakes. He needs to regroup now

Trump's main concern was the propaganda sent out by Voice of America to foreign countries & to provide Perdue an assistant to help during this agricultural situation ...both nominees have been staled for years. Voice Of America is not staffed evenly with dems & republicans. It's not about Trump power, it's about the country.

#12, I think he would legally need to 'countermand' McConnell's phony 'pro forma session' with a Article 2, Section 3 forced adjournment in order to get his recess appointments in place.
And then the question is "Is it worth it in the short run" because a recess appointment is only good "until the end of the next session of Congress". So, if he needs someone now, he can do it, but at the price of some bad blood between him and McConnell. Since McConnell has been moving ahead Trump's MANY judicial appointments pretty well, against maximum Dem opposition to every one, it may not be a proper political move. Gain a temporary Asst. Dept of Whatever - but maybe lose a few dozen judges when McConnell decides to do a little "payback"?
Trying to win in a literal nest of vipers is not easy. Trump has very, very few allies in Congress, and a LOT of powerful enemies, many who pretend to be friends like McConnell and Graham and a LOT more.

DM being DM makes a point of changing direction while reloading, so they can troll everybody. Keeps us from pinning them down as being pro-Trump or anti-Trump... because they're both and care not at all about being two-faced.
When they locked out users with ad blockers, I was initially upset (because most other sites nagged users to disable adblock, instead of trying to force them). But after watching at a distance DM's effort to profit from tweaking both sides, I've been relieved that I'm not tempted to click on their stories any more. Thanks for blocking my access to your tripe, DM.
I miss your photos, but that's it.

#6 (McConnell is married to the daughter of a ChiCom army general.)
Means nothing that he fled China to Taiwan after the Chinese civil war? That should categorize her dad as a prominent enemy of the ChiComs, not as one of their generals. That kind of indirection plus spin seems beneath you.
