The owner of a Chinese factory in an online group chat suggested intentionally calibrating forehead thermometers shipped to the United States a few degrees cooler than what the actual temperature is. That way Americans who are sick will not register as having a fever and will then spread the coronavirus. Writer Jennifer Zeng posted this thread on Twitter. Zhang Xuandong, owner of Haofeng Electronic Technology Co. in Dongguan, #Guangdong Province in #China, says in a chat group of orehead thermometer producers which has 178 members, “Produce some fake products and sell them to the US.

Personally, it was the melamine wood paneling shredded in dog food that did it for me. Always willing to pay more for goods made in the US. Just bought some nice bed sheets made of US Cotton woven in the US. I sleep better. Hopefully I will have increased choices in the future.

This "made in china" covid-19 pandemic shows that "cheap" sometimes has a very high cost. We need to bring back manufacturing jobs to the USA NOW! Pricing can be addressed with innovation and American ingenuity.

Yes Haofong Tech etc. You are right about one thing further down in the article.
FTA … After one member sends three laughing emojis, Zhang continues to say, “Isn’t that a great idea? Without using one single solider, we make money, as well as make peace for the world.”
Another member says No, we don’t want to make money from Americans. Let them help and rely on themselves.
All 178 of your little members are about to find out that Americans are VERY GOOD at relying on themselves.

Time to keep "made in China" products in China. Build factories, hire Americans, sell in America. I will pay more.

Well, Americans are also making stupid jokes about China, and usually do not mean it. ... I am so happy with China right now because they are the ones who suggested chloroquine, and told us it was working. And Raoult of France quickly tried it, first and best analysis, and Trump has publicized it as only he can, and Germany has sent three million pills because it is best if used early in an infection. What an incredible joint effort. Against them of course are Whitmer, the NYT, and the Democrats. Not part of the amazing unprecedented all-world harmony tour. The enemy, actually.

I always wondered why my temperature was a little low with the forehead thermometer, so I took my temp the old fashioned way, under the lounge, and it turned out it was a identical. Of course, the forehead thermometer was purchased many years ago. But, no more 'made in China' for my family.

If I see Made in China I will do without it and work around. Hey Wal-Mart if I set foot in one of your stores it will be for some walking around exercise because it's raining outside. I notice that with a lot of small and smaller businesses up and helping out I have not heard word one out of Wally World.

Exactly #11. Time to begin the "boycott and condemn China now" movement. More and more I am convinced the Chinese government released the virus deliberately. They had a huge loss of face after the last major trade agreement. Yes, it cost Chinese lives but what do they care. They killed 13 million during the "great leap forward".

Make the joke be on this Chinese jokester by banning all of his products from entering the USA. This is just more evidence that the USA must become self reliant in medical supplies and pharmaceuticals by bringing the manufacturing of them, and all sorts of other commodities back to the USA, as President Trump has been advocating for since he was elected.
If the country ever were to elect Biden in November, returning such manufacturing to the USA will never happen, as you can bet that Biden would be a lot more interested in cozying up to the Chinese Communists to continue globalist and DC UniParty investment opportunities in China. Remember Biden has repeatedly publicly said that China is not a competitor to the US economy or a threat to the USA. Biden might even send his son Hunter over to China to be the US Ambassador!

Mr. President,
Please ban this company. And have the Border Inspectors grab every incoming shipment for “extra” inspection. In a year's time, reject it. This guy isn’t just an internet troller, he owns the factory. Big difference.

Maybe a new import requirement on all Chinese thermometers?
How about a requirement that their calibration be verified to be accurate within 0.5 degrees over their whole scale range by a US standards company, say Underwriters Labs, before they can be sold in the USA? And I mean EVERY SINGLE STINKING ChiCom one of them tested and certified.
How would you like that?

Serious second, Start with the thermometer salesmen, 178 companies gone, And when we sit down with China again for tariff talks we tell them to pi$$ off. See if they've "lost face". Tell them to sell their thermometers to Belgium and feed their dog food to their thermometer makers. I have an idea. HOW ABOUT Wuhan Brand Dog Food … Pangolin Flavor.
