President Donald Trump berated Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) on Friday, demanding the Republicans throw him out of the party for obstructing the massive coronavirus rescue package.“Win Back House, but throw Massie out of Republican Party!” Trump wrote on Twitter. (Tweets) The president described the famous Republican libertarian as a “third rate Grandstander” who was obstructing the bill. “He just wants the publicity. He can’t stop it, only delay, which is both dangerous and costly,” Trump wrote.

According to Massie this bill will add $68,000 per family of new national debt and dollar devaluation, roughly $17,000 per citizen. I understand what he is trying to do and appreciate the fiscal conservatism involved. I support Trump but it angers me when he now refers to Massie as a, 'Third Rate Grandstander' who should be thrown out of the party. Sometimes his bluster is a bit over the top. This is a tough issue; do nothing and the economy suffers, sign the bill and the future economy suffers.
I own a small business and sales are non-existent right now. I could sure use $1200 but at what cost to the future economy.

435 idiots and the biggest idiot is the one and only grand stander out of all of the other grand standers... Massie should be ridden out of Washington on a rail...

#1...My thoughts are, there will not be a future economy if this isn't done . With President Trump at the controls, the future of America will boom.

#3 - you are very likely right, I am counting on Trump to get us through this. If we do not pass this bill, and somehow democrats take control in November on a wave of extreme public anger at republicans, well God help us all.

Massie isn't necessarily wrong. The Aftershock and expected global reset of the world's financial systems and sovereign currencies including the US Dollar is going to happen, anyway. That being said, I'd much rather have the President at the helm than any dimwit dim.

It's over. It passed. He failed to get a vote. Move on, nothing to see here.
These massive bills have so much junk in them. I'm wondering what Pelosi slipped in on us...

I think a better point could be made here.
That Nancy Pelosi adjourned the House for over 1 week, and dithered around with her 1400 page pork list that she and her liberal Democrats wanted to use as extortion so they could "remake the country in the image they have always desired", per Rep. Clyburn.
So, if she didn't adjourn the House, they'd all be there to cast their votes in-person.

Face it, folks - -
- - after three years inside the beltway - - Trump has gone full-bore socialist.
The very idea that Trump believes that massive government intervention is some kind of solution is the most frightening thing to come out of this "pandemic."

Why not just hand out government approved printers and paper and let people print what they think they need?
If you need a couple of big ones, who cares? It's only zeros being added at the end of the $1.

I heard him on Rush's show this morning. Apparently fiscal conservatives are now third rate grandstanders and persona nongrata in the trump world. If we had more like him we would not be in bad shape debt wise.

I remember in 2008 they did and said the same thing. "to save America and the people", "pass this bill or there will be no future economy", "to keep corporations from bankrupting to save jobs", etc, etc. And all the money went to save the union pensions, corporate stock buybacks, to banks that didn't need the money, to subsidize the Washington Porks and for easy consumer credits to create more liability bubbles. Trump after 4 years of political experience in Washington has finally learned the ropes and become one of THEM. 2 trillion? Why not 10 trillion and go for the kill?! We got the almighty PRINTER!

If one adds up all the money being spent/infused by Congress and the Federal Reserve, the total already is over $10 Trillion with this latest $2 Trillion add-on.
