I am honestly afraid to look. This is like a gang of Democrat thugs and RINO enablers joining forces to loot the national treasury under cover of darkness and the pretense of compassion to fill the pockets of their friends and pet causes which have nothing to do with the epidemic.
Why does the word "Ceaucescus" leap to mind?

In some cases (not all) the benefit would exceed earnings. (At $20 / hour by about $150 / week). However, this is a temporary situation, and if you quit your job, you don't get U/E. Where's the incentive for an employer to lay that person off? IDK.
That said, the amendment has failed. (48Y 48N) It remains to be seen what the vote on the full bill would be.

I don't think anyone likes the fact that some people will get paid more on unemployment than they made working but I understand why they had to cave. It would have taken months to patch and test many of the state's computer systems that are still running COBOL programs that did not have the software to calculate a cap value. All they had to work with was one field that could be added to the base unemployment amount and $600 was too little for some and too much for others but the average was ok. Only government could be this screwed up.

Another $2T 'stimulus' package. Or we could just refer to it as Porkulus 4. Seems like we're just spiraling down the drain.

It passed unanimously. Not one Senator wanted to be on record against it.

I see Pork Nancy got some of her 'demands', although they were watered down.

How sanctimonious of Mitch to proudly acclaim "some people will get "checks with four figures" How many figures are the checks Congress receive courtesy of taxpayers, special interest and lobbyist?
This is how it will play out in some houses: a family of seven, two on SSDI, two adults laid off so it will be unemployment, help with rent, more EBT, electric paid plus a gov check. Seasoned players,

Those "Democrat thugs and RINO enablers" are the UNIPARTY that Americans elect and re-elect thinking there is an ultimate difference. The vote Wednesday will be wonderfully bi-partisan, probably near unanimous, and America will rejoice that Congress can come together in a crisis to get things done...yeah, if there's enough money in it and their special interest patrons demand it.
And that free GOVERNMENT money coming your way...what -ism is that? Communism? Socialism? Surely not Capitalism... It's now "Americanism". Let's all stand and cheer!!

Not enough time for Congress to read the bill-- We are going to get screwed again, because she is asking for an "all or nothing vote". No debate. Another shot at "we have to pass it to see what's in it" ripoff like NobamaCare.
How about WE READ IT BEFORE we vote on it?
Just take a look at it and you will find ALL SORTS of things in it that have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Corona Virus.
Here is a link to the 900+ page bill that Congress has to wade through if you want to see how bad it really is--
