Groceries began reappearing on American store shelves this week, thanks to the strength of a supply chain that includes farmers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers — all of whom are literally risking their lives to stay on duty.A crucial part of that supply chain is the American trucker, who makes sure that goods are delivered in a timely fashion. That is always the case, but it is especially true in the sudden global emergency we face today. The U.S. Census Bureau reported last year that 3.5 million Americans are employed as truck drivers. Many work long hours, and a disproportionate number of them are military veterans.

Have you hugged a trucker yet today? Have you hugged an oil & gas worker yet today - these are the men and women who are keeping us going during this crisis.

... and retail pharmacists! I think people forget about them. Doctors and nurses get the glory but retail pharmacists are highly educated scientists who save lives, not just the people who check you out in the back of the drug store.

Just got back from a cross country trip. Some clown truck driver on the CB said he bet there weren't any crackers out there still going to vote for Trump. For the next 20 minutes he heard about it big time. Yes, there are still plenty of crackers who will vote for Trump and none who said they wouldn't.

They're not asking for bailouts, that's for sure. Has anyone noticed that none of the government agencies are asking for bailouts, government workers don't seem concerned about their jobs, and none of them are being asked to take time off because of budget concerns? Or, is it just me? Are the majority of them sitting at home, not worried about collecting their paychecks? It seems the people who keep the country running are now having to depend on those they support via taxation. I went into my locally owned Piggly Wiggly this morning, and they were busy restocking with pallets of goods everywhere. They had everything the chain Harris Teeter was missing yesterday. Strange.

Trucking is a good way to avoid big crowds! Make money too!
By the way, democrats and anti-Trumpers: When President Trump starts handing out money, remember that he is ''not your President.'' so you don't get any!

The White House (through the Rapid-Response Taskforce for Coronavirus Testing Sites) has asked my company (UPS) to assist with the logistics planning and operations to support the opening and regular operation of drive-up Coronavirus community-based testing sites. I work on the UPS Airlines side of the company. We're still flying to all gateways worldwide and our feeder trucks and delivery vehicles are still rolling daily. It'll DEFINITELY be a crisis if we stop.

Truckers are really America's un-sung and un-appreciated heroes 24-7-365. If you don't believe that, consider what would happen if they all parked their rigs for 48 to 72 hours.

In Pennsylvania, the incredibly incompetent Governor Wolf has closed down all rest areas on interstate highways to make sure that truck drivers are delayed as much as possible. Need I mention that he is a democrat?

#11, do you suppose the voters will remember that come election time? I'm sure the Dem voters won't.

No hugs these days, #2. But I sure do appreciate that they have an important job. Need to keep truck stops open so they have some place to eat, shower, etc. Not a particularly easy life, we need to appreciate that and make sure that we don't make some rules that make it impossible to do their jobs.

Has anyone ever noticed that when crises occur, it is the non-elites (with the exception of medical personnel) who respond? During and after 9/11, it was the firefighters, police, EMT's, steel workers, and construction workers (and I'm sure I'm missing a few...apologies) who raced to the scene. Truckers, Public Service workers, red cross and various civilian organizations are the ones who respond to hurricanes and tornados. Truckers continually work to make sure we have all the necessary supplies to live our daily lives.
The "Elites" are hunkered down at home, bemoaning the decrease in their 401K's. And they have the nerve to consider themselves better than all of the above? That really takes nerve!!!
