In 1962, director John Frankenheimer released his classic film, The Manchurian Candidate. While the film is a precursor to future paranoid political films such as Robert Redford’s Three Days of the Condor and Oliver Stone’s JFK, The Manchurian Candidate plays more like a Hitchcock thriller, but its subtext is made clear when a Democratic Senator based on Adlai Stevenson visits a cocktail party put on by Eleanor Shaw Iselin (played by Angela Lansbury) as a precursor to a presidential bid by her husband, a parody of Republican Senator Joseph McCarthy named John Iselin.

And at the end of the movie the plot is exposed and thwarted. In the same such manner the Fake News enemedia will also be dispatched. Their monopoly over public opinion has already been smashed to pieces. Tiny, little MAGA pieces.

The Manchurian Candidate is STILL one of the greatest movies of all time-- it is more correct to equate Angela's Landsbury's "Red Queen" character as Hitlery Clinton, and her bumbling, narcissistic husband who proclaims there are "57 communists" in the Congress more like Bubba Clinton. NOTHING will stop her, and Landbury was nominated as Best Actress.
The Oliver Stone film "JFK" was a media sensation BEFORE the movie with all sorts of "Company"-bought media types going after the movie before is was finished trying to keep the fable alive that only one person with a misaligned scope, shooting through trees could have made shots from the FRONT when it was clear that there as a hole the size of one of the Parkland Doctor's FIST behind the President's right ear-- That movie's script was released with footnotes and attributions to OFFICIAL source material, validating all but one scene projecting that JFK would have gotten us OUT of Vietnam before it ever started when LBJ TWICE fell for pretexts in the Gulf of Tonkin.
To call those two GREAT films 'paranoid' takes them too lightly-- As of result of Stone's film which brought about the formation of the JFK Act and the ARRB which declassified all manner of LIES we had been told (and STILL keeping certain people under wraps when Mr. Trump did not release everything as the law required him to do in 2017) we are yet to have the full story.
Where are the media watchdogs? They have become lapdogs promoting the agenda of the left, and making up "news" attempting to influence reality by brainwashing the public telling them falsehoods like actor Khigh Dhiegh (who would later play classic Hawaii 5-0's Wo Fat) and expecting the public NOT to call BS on their efforts...
BOTH are history making movies, and well worth watching again!

The vile media have been screaming "Fire!" in a crowded theater. There should be consequences for the panic they have caused.

Why is there no counterweight national "conservative" media? Don't say Fox News...it's not. The crows squawk on MS-Whatever or The View and it's NEWS! And it's even part of the Fox broadcasts...why? Where are the billionaire conservatives when Newsweek sells for one dollar? Where are the conservative media moguls building empires of television, net streaming and print outlets? Fox gives a good model until it went "mainstream"...supposedly #1 in cable. It's worse than sad when the most conservative outlets appear to be RT (Russian Times) and Al Jazeera.

Oliver Stone's movie was interesting, but it was pure fiction. Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy, shot Governor Connally and killed Officer J.D. Tippett on November 22, 1963. He acted alone. Jack Ruby didn't know him and also acted alone.
The Manchurian Candidate was terrifying, but presented a possible scenario.

All the media has succumbed to the propaganda virus, even Fox (Faux) news! Making mountains out of mole hills is one thing, but when fake, or biased, news is sensationalized, it's another matter.

I don't understand all the love for The Manchurian Candidate on this page. It's a horrible movie that insults conservatives and portrays us as either mouth-breathing morons or evil fascists (to use William F. Buckley's term, "crypto-communists"). In fact, it's the left that usually works this way.

For months I have been posting the same thoughts as #7... our own conservative news channel network
And our new own newspapers!
Conservatives unite!
This is information war!
Don’t let the bastids influence-peddle their propaganda!
