Liberals demand federal coronavirus

We're all going to be spending a lot more time on the internet as long as the informal COVID-19 sequestration remains in place. That means that our unoccupied attention will be subject to more inane opinions than normal, but hey, at least irascible Joe Biden gets a break from buffaloing inquisitive voters and threatening to give them the back of his liver-spotted hand. As Netflix stock rises and Charmin Ultra Soft supplies run low, some public officials are using the forced downtime to excrete whatever thought forms in their woolgathering state. Most are shtuss; some are inadvertently insightful. Take liberal senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut.

Liberals hate the constitution-it gets in the way when they want to assert totalitarianism. And Murphy and the rest of the Dem jackasses contradict themselves when they complain about Trump being a dictator-they make this argument while they themselves make it abundantly clear they want to be the dictators. If Trump were a true totalitarian, wouldn't the first thing he'd do would be to shut down his opposition? Like, say, Stalin (or Bernie Sanders) and a few dozen firing squads?

Trump was restricting travel from China back in January, while the democrats were impeaching him in the Senate. At the same time the press was calling him racist and xenophobic for the travel restrictions.

"we're seeing mayors, governors, and unsung state and local officials leading on the front lines." Yes, and because these people ARE on the front lines, they are directly talking to the individual schools, businesses, hospitals, etc that are trying to deal with the issue. They KNOW the problems and can mobilize resources to specifically meet the challenge. IF the local government people face a problem they can't solve, they can escalate it to the federal government. Meanwhile the federal government has, VERY OBVIOUSLY reached out to the states as evidenced by LIBERAL governors congratulating Trump's administration on their cooperation. Trump has also clearly engaged private industry, already on the ground in most locations, to provide immediate response. That's FAR, FAR better than almost anything the government can do. No laws or pressure or government mobilization was needed. All the president had to do was ask. This emergency has allowed Trump to prove, yet again, that engaging private enterprise in America is the way to get things done quickly and efficiently and also to spur innovative solutions. In the end, this emergency will have been proven to have been well handled and the liberals will have fallen on their faces once again. Further, because Trump and his people are engaged, you can be sure there will be lessons learned and changes made so that the next time something like this happens, we will be even better prepared with working solutions.

Fact Check: Biden Claims Trump Tax Cuts

Claim: Joe Biden said Sunday night that the Trump tax cuts of 2017 and Fed rate cuts of 2019 have left the U.S. unable to afford measures needed to stabilize the American economy during the coronavirus crisis. “The problem is the policies of this administration. Economically have we eaten a lot of our seed corn here,” Biden said during the Democrat presidential debate. “The ability of us to use leverages that were available before have been used up by this god-awful tax cut of $1.9 trillion and the fact that we have used, the fed will be of little consequence now. They’ve already used what leverage they have.” Verdict: False.

For reasons still a little unclear, Mexico has avoided the disasters of the coronavirus. It barely exists in the country. Mexico has 26 cases, concentrated near the capital, meaning very likely that it came from exposure abroad. At the borderlands, there is nothing. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune: TIJUANA — Relatively unscathed to date, Mexico is stepping up measures against the coronavirus pandemic as authorities brace for what they call the inevitable large-scale spread of the virus throughout the region. With zero confirmed cases of coronavirus in Baja California thus far, and its northern neighboring state of California nearing 300,

The coronavirus is only partly about a killer illness that's taking down too many people. It's also about the disruption of life - from the missing toilet paper on store shelves to the painful ending of church masses and services, to the cancellations of weddings and travel, to the fears for the economy. Most of all, it's about the isolation, the forced 'social distancing' that's exactly the opposite of our human desire to gather and be together in times of crisis. It's the right thing to do to protect each other (since none of us knows if we are carriers) and the aim is right, too -

Economic forecaster Lakshman Achuthan is seeing an encouraging market pattern that indicates the economy may avoid a recession. He boils it down in a chart of how commodity prices are doing. [Graphic] The red line shows easy to speculate commodities, which includes oil and copper. The blue line follows hard to speculate groups such as rubber, benzene and some textiles. Achuthan, who’s co-founder of the Economic Cycle Research Institute, contends both groups would be falling simultaneously during an economic downturn. However, the only drop he’s seeing is in very speculative commodities. It suggests, according to Achuthan,

An Obama-appointed federal judge blocked a Trump administration rule that would have tightened work requirements for food stamps, citing the coronavirus pandemic as the reason she made her decision. D.C. District Court Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell granted a preliminary injunction blocking the recent Trump administration rule on food stamps, which the USDA estimates would have reduced federal spending by $7.9 billion over five years and gradually weaned 755,000 people off the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the government program in charge of food stamps. “Especially now, as a global pandemic poses widespread health risks,

In retrospect, Florida dodged a bullet. Andrew Gillum, the corruption-tinged left-wing mayor of Tallahassee, who less than two years ago darn near got elected goveror of Florida, based on a glowing 'making history' press narrative, has been caught naked, in a hotel room with a gay "escort," barfing over a toilet, and too inchoate to answer questions from cops, who were called in to hose out a $220 a night Miami hotel room of meth baggies. The self-described porn star in the room had a profile on "Rent Men" and being that he was with Gillum and another guy, naked, was in what cops reportedly suspected was a orgy.

This makes the second week that I have been unable to purchase toilet paper. I understand that people fear being in quarantine for two weeks or a month over WuFlu fears, and wanting their personal supply to last. That weighs on their minds — not the alleged lethality of the current coronavirus,
