The two leading Democrat presidential candidates, former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT), will participate in a debate Sunday night on CNN set with no audience while standing at podiums set six feet apart because of the Wuhan coronavirus scare. Remaining candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI) did not make the cut for the party’s threshold for the debate. While the lack of an audience to play to with applause, laugh lines and zingers might be a hindrance, Biden and Sanders have decades of experience speaking in the Senate where reactions are generally not allowed.

Article understates the number of delegates required for the nomination by almost 1,000.

They wouldn't have had an audience even without coronavirus. Who wants to watch two geezers geez it up? (I personally am not a geezer; I'm more of a codger.)

The headline is an interesting blend of comedy and irony. I know that I will certainly not be among the "no audience".

If bernette gets argumentative bi.den, Huncher’s dad, will chase bernette around with his false teeth. How he has fallen from the days when he threatened corn popover with a chain.

Oh boy i can’t wait to not watch it. The only thing these guys should be debating is how bad their prostate cancer is.

I tried. I really tried to find a place to watch the debate. I won't pay Directv another penny a month just so I can watch the crapfest tonight. I'll just gyp whoever can put up the feed as soon as it is over. It is hard enough to watch a Democrat speak without having to pay for the privilege. Gack City.

Didn’t think it possible, but CNN trio are actually dumber than Dumb and Dumber. The question, “Would you support a national lockdown?” would mean no one would go to work. No food processing, no manufacturing, no deliveries, nothing. If store shelves are empty now, wait until everyone is required to stay home for 2 or more weeks.
If either of these two idiots are elected, we’re in deep trouble beyond Coronavirus. Also, both old fools raised their hands months ago for free healthcare for illegals. Will they be asked if illegals should be treated equal to citizens?

My husband just turned on the debate. While I was in the kitchen dishing up his second bowl of chili, he went back to Star Trek.

Now one hour into this "debate" and ready to turn it off. Nothing but nonsense and noise. However, so far old Joe appears to be holding his own against Bernie.

Since I was the designated watcher of this geezer show in our house, I must agree with #14 that slow Joe is holding his own with the commie. He's still standing, but the fact checkers have yet to weigh in.

I watched for a few minutes. Surprised to see both standing up. I thought they were going to be sitting down.

#9, I think a debate featuring their bowel movements and incontinence would be at least as timely.
