SAN ANTONIO – Long lines and some empty shelves are what shoppers are finding at supermarkets and big discount stores as concerns about the new coronavirus pandemic continue. And, even as images of near-empty cleaning supply, snack and even toilet paper aisles circulate across social media, H-E-B has a message for its customers: Don’t panic.“What you’re going to see is around-the-clock stocking of shelves,” said H-E-B spokeswoman Julie Bedingfield. “Yes, you may walk into an H-E-B or see online an empty shelf, but that is temporary.”She said trucks are coming in daily, replenishing high-demand products as quickly as they can.To try to ensure everyone can find what they need,

Yes my relatives in South Texas said their local HEB had to do something because there was outrageous hoarding going on. People need to calm down.

I understand hand sanitizer, but yesterday the cereal aisle at my local HEB was stripped bare.

Now if they could just hire some people to man the registers instead of using their employees to gather up food and deliver it to all the mom-mobiles idling their engines in their reserved parking spaces, closest to the door. Nothing like having First Class and Economy at the grocery store, too.
Too bad Albertson's and Handy Andy got driven away.
Oh, and they were having problems keeping their own branded products on the shelves weeks and weeks ago.

Living in So. Cal. I’ve always tried to be prepared...earthquakes, don’t you know. Shopped last week to fill in some gaps (like sore throat spray and cough syrup) just in case. Made sure I have a good supply of cat food and litter, too...the rest we can fake. No excuse. o to be prepared!

Just home for a trip to the local Kroger (Columbus OH). No milk, bread, meat, OJ, paper products, soap, laundry detergent, soup, pasta, cleaning supplies, frozen veg, frozen pizza, bottled water, and who knows what else. Wow. Just wow.

No better time to prove to the world that we can live on bacon (as long as we have running water for the TP issue)!

Don't understand why people are buying bottled water. Or toilet tissue. You get a virus from contact with others. Buy garlic. That'll keep people away.

I was in the store today to pick up a few things and marveled at all the idiots buying all kinds of crap and I wondered what their bank accounts were gong to look like when all the others bills come due. Every banana in the produce section was gone. Not much shelf life with bananas.

I thought HEB was the failed Bush. Apparently a store. Never heard of it. But, apparently they are trying to deal with the dingbats, too.

Just as I thought, #8, people have gone totally bananas. Our small local grocery was totally normal on Thursday, didn't shop today.

Toilet paper and honey nut Cheerios with hand sanitizer are an antidotes for the Coronavirus. HEB other stores are within a couple miles of my house. Including a Whole Foods (everybody knows non-GMO and gluten free products are not antidotes).
I live in southeast Texas, 25 miles west of Houston and 60 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico. Moved here 20 years and experience this panic buying whenever a hurricane is predicted to make landfall. After the last experience put up a couple boxes of freeze dried meals. Did the one to have on hand and two to stop my wife from panic buying. One can only eat so much spam which my came home with. Was eating the stuff for two months.
