A coronavirus patient in his 50s went bar hopping to intentionally 'spread the virus' in Japan before Hazmat-clad police took him to hospital. The man tested positive for the disease—which has killed more than 3,500 with at least 100,000 diagnoses worldwide—but he showed no symptoms in Gamagori City. He was sent home by medics and was told to self-isolate before being taken to hospital. But the man—whose parents both were diagnosed with coronavirus—ignored advice and told a relative he was 'going to spread the virus' before taking a taxi to a bar. He left the first bar and went to

Brought him to a hospital? A healthy society would bring him straight to the gallows.

There was a medical worker in New Hampshire who tested positive and was told to self-quarantine and three days later went to a gathering of 150 people. Talk about self-centered! What are these people thinking??

Since the vast majority of those that have died and the most at risk from the virus are those 60 years old and older with existing medical issues, I think visiting a bar or two is the last place people that age with health conditions will be. However, if one is ill, or a carrier of an illness, just stay home.

The email arrived on a Tuesday afternoon in January, startling Zachary McCoy as he prepared to leave for his job at a restaurant in Gainesville, Florida. It was from Google’s legal investigations support team, writing to let him know that local police had demanded information related to his Google account. The company said it would release the data unless he went to court and tried to block it. He had just seven days. “I was hit with a really deep fear,” McCoy, 30, recalled, even though he couldn’t think of anything he’d done wrong. Ruth Bader Ginsburg dismantled a controversial Louisiana abortion bill during an hour of arguments at the US Supreme Court this week, systematically striking down components of the law she previously opposed during a preliminary vote. The 86-year-old Supreme Court justice, who recently returned to the nation’s highest court after announcing she was cancer-free in January, seemed to aggressively push back against demands from lawyers representing the Trump administration and state of Louisiana to approve the legislation during Wednesday’s arguments. Louisiana’s Act 620 would require abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of its facilities, in the event

ICE announced Friday that it had defied a California sanctuary law and arrested a repeat-felon illegal immigrant outside of San Francisco’s Hall of Justice this week, prompting angry denunciations from local officials. The arrest is the latest escalation between the Trump administration and California over immigration enforcement, with the feds pushing back hard on the state’s sanctuary policies through lawsuits, subpoenas, and now flouting the state’s own laws. ICE said it had tried eight times to get local authorities to turn over the man, who was not identified by name, but each time those “detainer” requests were rebuffed. So they tracked him down

The Trump administration finalized a new policy Friday that paves the way for Homeland Security to collect DNA from all illegal immigrants the department arrests, fulfilling the terms of a 2005 law that the government has been evading for years. Under the new rules, posted online Friday and slated to be published in the Federal Register next week, Attorney General William P. Barr can cancel an Obama-era waiver and order collection of DNA by agents and officers in both U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). It was supposed to be already happening, but in 2010 then-Attorney General Eric H. Holder

Voters from predominantly black and Latino neighbourhoods were forced to wait for hours to cast their ballot in Texas on Super Tuesday after long lines were reported at some polling stations. Election officials in the Houston area were forced to send in additional voting machines as thousands of people reportedly waited for up to five hours to vote at one station. The long waits came after the closure of hundreds of polling stations across Texas by the Republican-led state government since 2012. MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow suggested voting difficulties had been caused in part by the “systematic” closing of stations in areas with high turnout for minority

The FBI missed opportunities to stop domestic terrorists from killing Americans because field offices failed to further investigate individuals who had been labeled homegrown violent extremists, the Justice Department watchdog said in a scathing report released Wednesday. At least six terrorists who later carried out attacks killing a total of 70 people were on the FBI’s radar prior to the attacks. However, the agents quickly closed the cases, concluding the suspects were not threats to national security, according to the Justice Department inspector general. Among the more high-profile individuals the FBI failed to recognize as a potential source of terrorism were Omar Mateen, who killed 49

Now that the once-sprawling field of Democrats seeking the presidency has become a two-man race, many in the party are breathing a sigh of relief. All the more so because Joe Biden is the clear front-runner and the dreaded Bernie Sanders looks to be fading. So it’s all set. Biden will be the nominee and give the party a solid chance of scoring a November trifecta: beating President Trump, taking the Senate and holding the House. Count me as skeptical. Instead of a smooth ride, it’s more likely that the Dems’ desperate search for a Trump slayer will hit more turbulence and an alternative to Biden still could be necessary.
