Super Tuesday results have exposed the dramatic divide among age groups in their support for Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders, which could be a bad sign for Democrats in the general election, no matter who the nominee is.
Simply put: Exit polls have shown that Biden's surge is being driven by overwhelming support among older voters, while Sanders has dominated among younger voters.
As an example, in Virginia, which provided Biden his first big win of the night, he did progressively better the older voters were, winning 76% of those 65 and older, compared to just 7% for Sanders. Yet despite losing the state, Sanders won 57% of voters

Who will the Sandersistas rally behind when he dies this summer? Who is the second in line in the cult? Does anyone know?

Actually, I think the biggest problem the article highlights is not the age gap but the enthusiasm gap. Part of the dems, mostly Bernie supporters are hysterical but overall, the party has had low turnout. If Biden wins, committed dem youth and Socialists will vote for him but they are going to be disillusioned. If Bernie wins, many committed dems will vote for him but they are not going to do so enthusiastically and some moderates may refuse to back a Socialist and either stay home or vote for Trump.
The dem party is fractured and whichever half loses will have major issues with the winner. That does not lead to unity and enthusiasm, especially if the battle continues until the end as it probably will.
The establishment is just grateful that Biden is off life support and breathing on his own.

#1 The Bernie Bros won't vote in November if Bernie isn't on the ballot. They're not Democrats.

The really "bad sign" is for us when these fools finally get serious about voting. And #1, AOC has been following Bernie around and slobbering all over him--not for his sake, but for hers. Comprende?

What's frightening is wondering who does ascend to the top of the Radical (Sanders) Dems, which will be the party for a generation. Sanders losing either the nomination or in November only delays the process of generational change. Like those Killer Bees of yore, someone in this party must be hoping some infusion of reason causes The Squad, Bernie Bros and others to come to grips with national political reality.

All the comments are good here. But, the establishment wants Biden. If he wins the nomination, the DNC powers that be will tell him who to pick for the VP spot. That is the real candidate. If, God forbids, he makes it to the presidency, he will be removed for "health issues" by the establishment, and Voila, you have the president the establishment wants. This will also be a figure head, since the "real" president will be running the country from the Kalorama Road bunker.

The only difference I see between Biden and Sanders is that Sanders is open about what he wants to do to this country and praises Castro, etc. Biden, pretty much wants the same as Sanders: legalize all the illegals, medicare for all, take our legal guns away, etc. No way is Biden a moderate Dem. I guess the other difference is Sanders is more coherent/less senile than Joe.

The worst news in that age divide is for this country, not just for the Democrats. Namely, our education system is under complete control by socialists and is on overdrive cranking out an entire generation of socialists.
This fact should be like the spinning lights and siren on Drudge to every parent and conservative in this country. Unless we actively fight to retake total control of our education system, it's only a matter of time before the socialists take total control of our government.

Yes, the establishment does want Biden. So why does Bernie agree to be the kicked around old shoe? Is he really paying for all this? Is he actually being paid to pretend, then take a dive, like last time? Where is the diversity the liberals herald, in having nothing but old, white, dirt bag democrats to pick from? Tell us, we'd like to know. Each only potentially offer a small piece of the voting block pie.

Despite concern about Bernie Bros staying home in defiance, I think they will vote for Biden. Their hatred for DJT is stronger than their disappointment with Biden.

No one should be allowed to serve in elective or appointed office after the age of 70. Everyone, over 70 must retire. The SCOTUS is a total joke with this mess. Ginsberg should be impeached because of age.
