As someone who follows politics quite closely, I'm often fascinated when a potent piece of opposition research against a major candidate for office percolates below the radar for years, yet never quite breaks through. Have you ever heard of 'Sierra Blanca,' as it relates to Bernie Sanders? Neither had I. Neither had hardly any voters, I'd wager. Well, expect that to change, sooner or later. Tim Miller, a hardcore anti-Trump conservative, is adamantly opposed to Democrats nominating Sanders. He's written a piece outlining a somewhat obscure episode that he anticipates would

Soft-pedaling this story now and saving it for the general election may be part of Team Trump’s strategy.

Sierra Blanca is in the middle of no where. Have been lots of dumping schemes in West Texas, just another one. The real question is, who in Texas government facilitated (got paid) in this deal....

Another income stream for Mrs. Bernie for doing nothing. This woman is as dirty and greedy as Bernie and probably smarter.

Evidently the Biden Family isn't the only Democrat family making a killing off taxpayers, Comrade Bernie and his wife Jane have been feeding at the Government trough for quite a while. And what's with the kin serving on Boards where contirbution $$$ can be laundered. Not quite in the league of the Clinton Crime family but they are gaining. Government largess = Political Corruption. Hey Alphabet Networks follow the money.

Reminds me of a section on Caro's book on LBJ, where 'Lady Bird' was the owner of KLBJ - the Austin radio station still there today. LBJ was staffer for King Ranch Richard Kleberg democrat US Congressman. Some unfortunate guy owned the radio statio, but back in FCC era, it was required to go off the air at sundown - a 'Sundowner', as such it got no advertising revenue. Guy had waited years and years to get a 24 hour license..... LBJ informed him he'd never get it, unless station was sold to.....Ladybird....
If you think the Clintons invented pay for play....crafty politicians feathering their nest is as old as gold....

Bernie is made out of the same swamp scum as the rest of them. I'm in the Bernie chapter of Peter Schweitzer's book and suffice it to say this isn't the only sleaze ball deal. I will say so far the scale pales in comparison to Biden, a hundred thousand here a couple hundred thousand there rather than tens of millions Joey the Groper scammed, but Bolshevik Bernie was up to the same deal where the money went to family members. And like Lizzy forked tongue, despite railing against the 1% and Billionaires he too was in bed with them.

I can think of several reasons why they haven't pushed this. For one thing, check out ANY of them and you find 'sweetheart' deals benefiting relatives for ALL of them. If they go after Sanders, then they become vulnerable. Turnabout is fair play after all. Then would potentially com an avalanche of disclosure on ALL Democrats. Th fact that these so called 'Servants of the People' are all in it for the money and the power could, potentially destroy all of their careers.
No, I don't see any of the Democrats pushing this tidbit.
Trump on the other hand, might.

"Devastating"?....perhaps to ignorant, leftist envirowhackos who hate everything about nuclear power, and believe that "environmental racism" is an actual thing.
But, if you assume that the nuclear waste storage area was designed and built properly, I have no problem with it at all. In fact, the USA has to eventually have SOME safe place to store our spent nuclear fuels and other nuclear waste products.
We have built and paid for a perfectly fine nuclear waste storage area in Nevada, and yet the politics of ignorance and fear have prevented it from ever being used. So we store huge quantities of spent nuclear fuel assemblies at the nuclear power plants that created them, in open topped concrete "swimming pools" (with a basic weather roof, of course). The release of radioactive material at Fukishima came not primarily from the three first generation design reactors which melted down, yet contained their molten cores perfectly. The actual release of radioactive material came from adjacent the spent fuel storage pools which lost their cooling/shielding water layer when the concrete cracked in the earthquake. The "spent" fuel rods overheated, melted and burned, releasing radioactive material into the air, since there is no cover on these pools beyond a simple weather roof.
I'm all for Commie Boinee being outed to his lunatic followers, this should hurt his popularity with them. And of course, Boinee had his wife getting a payoff as part of the deal, as always is the case. But aside from the potential political gain, storage of nuclear waste is a real problem that needs a real solution.

Yeah--I keep thinking the same thing about Vice President Sleepy Joe making his female Secret Service security personnel stand around the executive swimming pool while he swam laps--naked.

Trump has said he won't get too involved with a specific candidate until after the nomination is determined. So I would guess that Trump and his senior people know all about the dirt on Bernie. This and the school bankruptcy he helped his wife engineer with those dodgy bank loans should wind up being front and center should Bernie get the nod. Bernie ignores the sage advice of 'careful what you wish for, because you might get it', because in his case, the brass ring is going to be gross with tarnish and is gonna bite him hard.

Do any of y'all know what Bernie's history is, regarding YUCCA MOUNTAIN in Nevada?
That debacle really "chaps" me! Congress appropriated billions of taxpayer dollars to build and equip the site, which is far from any population center and in a geologically-stable place. Then, after it was essentially completed, during the reign of Harry Reid, they pulled the plug on it. (Evidently it's back in discussion recently.)
I'd like to know if Bernie consistently opposed it, or if he favored the expenditure of taxpayer dollars to build it, only to shutter it after it was built.

I'm hoping there's a political torpedo with Bernie's name on it that will sink his ambitions for any office higher-ranking than county dogcatcher.
Perhaps the campaigns that have run against Bernie have looked at this and decided it wouldn't be as devastating as we armchair-analysts might think.

The difference between the Sanders family and Biden family is about $60 million, with Sanders catching up. Jane Sanders is the "Hunter Biden" of the family always staying 3 steps ahead of the law.

If anyone thinks any of the Dem candidates care about them or this country, they are delusional. It boggles the mind to think how they have indoctrinated naive young people. See why they don't go after seniors?
