Confederate-related paraphernalia

The highest-ranking officer in the US Marine Corps has ordered Confederate-related paraphernalia to be removed from all Marine installations. The order from Commandant Gen. David Berger was one of several initiatives he prioritized for "immediate execution" in a memo sent to senior leadership last week, Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Joseph Butterfield told CNN. Some of the other directives were posted by Berger on Twitter, including revising the parental leave policy to include same-sex couples, reviewing the possibility of yearlong maternity leave for female Marines and to get more female Marines into combat jobs.

Guess everyone has their priorities.

i support this initiative. Soldiers and Marines should be loyal to the US Flag, not some symbolic flag of the past! (which to white guys represents a symbol of rebuking authority and dissention against the "Mother Ship"

It's a pity the bitterness of the Civil War still lingers after 155 years. The animosity is strictly on the liberal side. The men who actually fought each other joined together in fellowship at reunions all the way into the thirties. They weren't bitter.

Article is just more evidence that the Marines are having the same recruitment problems as the other services. Record low unemployment rates, forgotten wars, long periods overseas and the under appreciated risks to life and limbs caused by our efforts in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria are all reasons not to serve. Plus, the Marine Commandant’s need to “get more female Marines into combat jobs” is demoralizing because almost every Marine study of women in combat roles has shown that women aren’t the same as men, and that men have to perform the tasks women cannot do. Better to remain a ciiviian than join a PC focused military with leaders more excited about implementing the Green New Deal than defending the country.

The Obama/Democrat communist rot now runs deep through all of our armed services. This so-called Marine commie general needs to be court marshaled and drummed out of the corps. Same for the army, navy, and air force top officers.

Dwight D. Eisenhower: "General Robert E. Lee was... one of the supremely gifted men produced by this Nation...Through all his many trials he remained selfless almost to a fault and unfailing in his belief in God...he was noble as a leader and as a man, and unsullied as I read the pages of our history...I proudly display the picture of this great American on my office wall." ... By Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David Berger's logic, Ike supported slavery and that picture should have been taken down from his wall.

Never thought I would live to see the day that the Marine Corp leadership would expect their troops to be ashamed of their heritage. Have to wonder what proportion of the Marines comes from the South? This is absolutely appalling, and if the Commandant doesn't like a BATTLE flag, he needs to resign his commission TODAY. Could not disagree more strongly with a previous poster. Expecting white people to be ashamed of their own culture, the culture that wrote the Constitution and defends it with blood, bone and soul, is asking way too much. We do not need Obama appointees in our military. They seem to have no problem with publicly disobeying their CiC either. A battle flag speaks to the heart of Patriotism, and I have no more problem with that, then I do with the Don't Tread on Me flags.

Lie-berals hate this country. They want to destroy us. And there is no better way to weaken our country than to weaken our military where they can't defend this country from invasion (including domestic invasion). If they are going to be "fair and equal", they have to let men have a year of maternity leave if they are letting women. Hey, get in the Marines, get your girlfriend pregnant, and you have a year of paid leave. Sounds like a gravy train. Instant lawsuits of they don't allow it. Fair and equal is fair and equal (no matter how stupid it all is, including giving the women the same 1 year of leave). And so, if anything offends a Marine, he can demand that it be removed from the entire Marines. Fair is fair. This is opening a "Pandora's Box" of insanity that will destroy the Marines. And that is exactly what the lie-berals want!!!!

One USMC fighter squadron had the long held name of "The Crusaders". Politically correct forces made that no longer tenable recently, and they had to change their squadron name. Even in the fighter squadron level of the USMC, political correctness rears it's ugly head. I understand that the pilots are not pleased with this PC BS.

San Francisco—The San Francisco police confirmed that an arrest has been made in connection to an assault and robbery that went viral after it was caught on camera. The video shows an Asian man, 68, being robbed and assaulted with a stick by a black man while collecting cans in the Bayview neighborhood as onlookers taunted him. A person recording the incident, identified as 20-year-old Dwayne Grayson, ridiculed the victim by telling him to “go get your cans,” as the man was chased again as he tried to retrieve the shopping cart. At one point, you can hear Grayson say “I hate Asians.”

The persistence of mental health hardships among gay and bisexual men, which endure even as LGBTQ people gain greater acceptance and civil rights, can be explained at least in part by the corrosive effects of status consciousness, competitiveness and racism within the gay community itself. Those are the striking and potentially controversial findings of a study published in January in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology that may broaden appreciation of the unique stressors faced by gay and bisexual men. Gay and lesbian people have a more than fourfold higher rate of suicide than the general population. Among transgender people, the gulf is even wider.
