Presidential hopeful Mike Bloomberg takes credit for leading New York “through” the 9/11 attacks in a campaign ad.
But there’s one problem: He didn’t become mayor until four months later.
Touting his leadership chops, the billionaire released a 30-second video including the claim.
“I led a complex, diverse city through 9/11 and I have common-sense plans to move America away from the chaos to progress,” Bloomberg, 78, is seen saying at a campaign rally. But Rudy Giuliani was mayor during the attacks, and he didn’t hand Bloomberg the keys to Gracie Mansion until Jan. 1, 2002.
The businessman has so far poured $500 million of his $62 billion personal fortune into his campaign,

Is he running as an Independent or as a Democrat? His long term memory is missing - due to medications, stress, depression? His candidacy is getting weaker and weaker. Not a good candidate to begin with.

Rudy wasn’t running for mayor again due to term limits. Guess what happened when Bloomberg became mayor? Term limits went by the wayside. They’re always changing the rules!

I saw this ad last week and screamed at the TV. People in the NY metro area know the truth abut bloomie and 9/11, he's a lying dirtbag and this ad is an insult to them and the memories of those that died that horrible day.

A fact-free legend in his own mind...or is it in his own bank account? A tiresome puke.

I worked for NYC government at the time of the 9/11 attack two blocks south of the World Trade Center. It was brutal to continue to work down there but so many of us did and carried on the work of City government . Mayor Rudy Giuliani was an unbelievable inspiration and manager. The Wall Street area while not decimated in the attack (Wall and Broad area) was a mess with debris from the Twin Towers and God knows what else on the streets. Within one week, ONE WEEK, Mayor Giuliani had that entire area (east of Broadway) back to normal, no debris, nothing to prevent the work of America from continuing. And Little Mikey? What was he doing? He was begging Giuliani to endorse him. The only reason Little Mikey won that election was that he spent over $75 million to get elected AND, America's Mayor put his arm around him and said 'he's my guy.' Voters responded. Little Mikey won that election by some 40,000 votes, a pittance in NYC. Mikey and other Democrats (Mike ran as a Republican because he knew he would never win a Democrat primary) said Giuliani should not eradicate the Term Limits law (which New Yorkers voted TWICE to enact) in order to continue the work of bringing the City back to normal. So on January 1, 2002, Rudolph Giuliani turned the City over to Mikey. Mike didn't make the City better than what Giuliani had done, he wisely did no harm or made any changes to Giuliani's policies. Then after spending another $80 million on his second term, Little Mikey convinced a very willing City Council to change the Term Limits law allowing him as well as all other NYC elected officials to run for a third term, wiping out Term Limits. Little Mikey spent another about $80 million on that election. As someone closely involved in what was going on in NYC inside government and out I can say, Mikey Bloomberg had NOTHING to do with bringing the City out of the 9/11 attacks. It was Rudy who on that terrible day with his courage and determination and putting the City back together in one week, set the tone that NYC and by extension the entire country would not be cowed and would roar back. Mikey had absolutely nothing to do with that. God bless forever Rudy Giuliani.

I think I know what he is trying to say, but talking to the unwashed masses is so foreign to him that he is having trouble saying it. He forgot the word AFTERMATH but that word isn't as sexy politically as the way he said it.
We all know who was in office when it happened, and we thank the Lord for Rudy's leadership. NYC wanted to give him that third term, but Bloomberg bought the City Council off to prevent it. People need to realize that he could care less about what the public wants or thinks about him. His sacks of money put him high enough above the crowds that he can ignore it and do what he wants to do.

Limits were 2 terms. Most wanted Giuliani to continue because he did a remarkable job. Term limits did not matter to Micheal Rubens Bloomberg. He paid the City Council and God knows who else and became a third term mayor. NYC did not deserve this dirt bag, but enough 'voted' him in and there was no vocal opposition, I guess they deserve each other. I left town!

I'm curious to see what Rudy's response will be when asked about this latest sack of manure Bloomie's trying to sell the American voter.

Have you seen his latest TV Commercial?
He claims to have already stopped pandemics, and under his administration, no hospital will ever be without everything they need.
The guy is an absolute fabulist... I'm kind of surprised he hasn't claimed to be a Vietnam war hero yet.
