Mike Bloomberg: Having a Gun in
Your Home Puts You at Risk

Democrat presidential hopeful Mike Bloomberg suggested average Americans are placed at higher risk of death or injury by having a gun in their home, during a CNN town hall on Wednesday. Bloomberg said, “You don’t want to have guns. If you have a gun in your house you’re something like 22 times as likely to get killed with a gun.”He added, “There’s domestic violence, there’s children playing, there’s accidents.”Bloomberg did not provide any substantiation of his claim that owning a gun makes someone “22 times as likely to get killed with a gun.” Nor did he mention the mention Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health study that found

Ok Mike so your armed security guards put your life a risk eh? I guess if your guards are playing Russian Roulette with you in the room it might be a problem. You might be 22 times more likely to get hit if they miss.

Gee Mike, If I had billions of dollars like you with a gated house, fancy alarm system and a security force around me, I wouldn't mind getting rid of my gun. BUT I don't, so it's up to me to protect my family and property and I WILL have a gun.

Suicidal people who have a gun will use - a gun. Seriously how did he make his money? Running a financial news service? No way was that it.

What Cheney said to Leahy. Bloomberg pulled that "22 times more likely" statistic out of his blessed assurance. I would estimate that I'm 22 times safer with a firearm nearby. No, jackanapes mayor, the gun, the equalizer, especially for a small or weak person against a large attacker, puts the armed robber or home invader at risk. Mini-Mike is fascist on this issue. He couldn't be more wrong. I don't give two hoots what in invincibly ignorant Bloomberg wants. Most of what he wants would be bad for the citizens of America anyway.

Up yours, lil' Mikey, it's an acceptable risk for that time when a real criminal threatens your family. Or the government turns into a dictatorship like it would under your fat little thumb. I heard that one of your campaign staffers bought a Big Gulp the other day, better check him out and have him whipped.

22 times as likely to get killed? I like to think I’m 22 times more likely to stay safe. Or maybe it’s 9 times more likely, or 357 times, or 44 or 45 times. Or maybe I should gauge it as 12 or 20 times more likely to stay safe?

It's what they do. The only issue that is important here is how many absolutely stupid people are there in this country who will vote straight Rat in November? Unfortunately along with all that the USA has to offer, we have a huge population of lazy, bitter, morons. Bloomers is counting on them to overwhelm the rest of us.

Mikey's the reason we have the Electoral College. The way he skipped Iowa and New Hamster demonstrates exactly what will happen if we go to nationwide popular votes instead of electors -- citizens in rural areas will simply not matter to the government any more, politically speaking. As for having a gun in my home putting me at risk, he's right: It would put me at risk of being killed by the gun-confiscating raids that he will send if he's elected.

On a recent episode of 60 Minutes, as Anderson Cooper narrates, a video is shown of Bernie Sanders suggesting, in the 1980s, that the Cuban people didn't help to overthrow Fidel Castro because the Castro regime had "educated their kids, gave them health care, totally transformed the society." While it might have been politically prudent to walk that contention back, Bernie doubled down. "We're very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba," Sanders said, "but you know, it's unfair to simply say that everything is bad. When Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? A seven-month deployment in Afghanistan shrouded in secrecy is a key piece of Pete Buttigieg’s pitch to voters in the 2020 presidential race, with the former South Bend, Indiana, mayor arguing that his status as a veteran and his time in a war zone give him foreign policy gravitas and first-hand military experience none of his Democratic primary rivals can claim. That supposed strength, however, ultimately could become a weakness in a potential general election match-up with President Trump and a Republican Party that is already eyeing ways to turn Mr. Buttigieg’s time as a Naval intelligence officer into a liability. A number of pundits have recently argued that younger voters, especially those under 30, are less inclined to be bothered when they hear the word “socialism,” since they have no firsthand memory of the Cold War. To some extent, this must be true. Those who weren’t alive during socialism’s cruelest catastrophes — or even its many banal failures — will be less put off by the idea. Then again, if a presidential candidate were praising the excellent public transportation system of the Third Reich or going on about the some alleged benefit to American slavery, they would rightly be chased from the public square forever
