Harvey Weinstein is “in disbelief,” but “not delusional,” about his conviction, as he remains under care at Bellevue Hospital before being transferred to Rikers Island, where he’ll be put behind bars.
“He’s still in disbelief of the charges he was convicted of. He’s very consistent about his innocence,” one of Weinstein’s attorneys, Arthur Aidala, told Variety over the phone late Wednesday night.
Weinstein was convicted Monday on two felony charges: criminal sex act in the first-degree for assaulting Miriam Haley by forcible oral sex in 2006, and rape in the third-degree for raping Jessica Mann in a New York City hotel room in 2013.

Think of all his "victims" who knowingly traded sex for parts in movies.
Harvey Weinstein was just doing what Hollywood big wigs have done for over a century. How did this all of the sudden become wrong in a place whose stock and trade is celebrating sin?

Weinstein is the face of the Hollywood culture. This kind of abhorrent behavior has been going on for decades. He is guilty of perpetuating the casting couch method of getting somewhere in that debauched town. The women are not blameless either. They knew the drill and should have walked out. This is a situation where there is no satisfactory outcome. He is a depraved old man preying on vulnerable young women and should pay the price for his actions. Hopefully, these so called “woke” women will find the strength to show some self-respect and forcefully reject a system that requires them to debase themselves to get ahead. When the curtain is stripped back on what many believe to be such a glamorous profession in reality it turns out to be a horrific place of pure depravity. Hollywood is all just an illusion.

Did not read the article, but Weinstein is just having trouble believing someone could come along and decide this year that what he had been doing for decades was suddenly wrong. You can't blame him for his disbelief!

Weinstein is a pig. But his accusers are sluts who knew exactly what they were doing. His punishment must reflect that fact. I am not saying that it doesn't. This is subjective.

#3 hits the nail on the head. The filth and garbage that are staples of Hollywood are the result of the perverts and narcissists that reign there on both sides of the camera. But with Weinstein’s conviction will we see an end to that system resulting in more thoughtful wholesome movies? All we could be seeing with all the Weinstein drama is an underworld process by which one set of criminals is replaced by another even more vicious set. If so, earnest advocates of #Metoo are another group of useful idiots caught up in one more turf war that is advertised as “for the children.”

Harvey does not have the goods on anybody important or powerful so his potential suicide would be real. If he gets more than 5 years I could see that happening. Democrat politicians screw people for money, Harvey did it for sexual pleasure. I don't see much difference.

Cosby got 10 years. Should Weinstein get more? Also, what did those gross body shots have to do with his guilt? He didn’t deny having sex with the accusers. Harvey is
a disgusting pig who no doubt exploited his role as Hollywood big shot but I think he has some pretty good grounds for appeal.

$300 Million Harvey with low friends in high places and more dirt on them than a mudslide... And it's a coincidence that he gets to hang out at a hospital instead of the infirmary at Rikers Island or in his jail cell where he belongs. There are so very many coincidences surround these people and the NYC corrections officers. He will try to hide out in a hospital until he can be release during his appeal, then join Polanski in Europe.

One poster asks how did this happen in Hollywood where sin is rampant??? Methinks ol' Harv was thrown under the bus to divert attention from the assklowns running for the democrap spot for President...he didn't do any more than a LOT of other 'king makers' out there have done over the years...now he has to protect his ass in jail, in more ways than one...

Whether it be rapists, or pedophiles, or embezzlers....they all manage to justify what they do.
So relying on the offender's opinion of his behavior is a useless conversation.
It is up to society to establish and enforce limits, because the offenders will never do so.

1. Did Weinstein deliver what was promised in the sexual "quid pro quo"--i.e., the acting part, the script, the contract, whatever? Did he keep to his end of the bargain, signed contract or not?
2. Did the other party accept that quid pro quo from Bernie and benefit from it?
If the answers to both questions are Yes, then Weinstein man be an innocent man, and we are only hearing about seller's remorse

He understood and played the casting couch game like all the other predators in Hollywood. Now if we want true equality, we need to have men step forward and start naming the women who are doing the exact same thing.
Most of the women in Hollywood willingly play the casting couch game. They know that is how you get the breaks in that system. So those who have long been willing to play, really have no right to morning after regrets years later. The damage they are doing to real victims of rape and harassment is incalculable. One way to stop that would be to start prosecuting women who use fake and false allegations and smears in an effort to ruin somebody be prosecuted for bringing that stuff against the men. Like Anita Hill, Prof Ford, and a host of other women. When these women suddenly disappear back into the weeds when these things don't work you know right there that means lying. Wasting the court's time used to bring punishment.

He worked the same deal that dozens of Hollyweird moguls have worked before him, I am sure. But this time, the girls snapped back after they got their fame, backed out of the bargain that they had made.
Is he an obnoxious pig? Sure, no doubt. But I seriously doubt that he forced anyone to do anything. Instead of offering these whores money for sex, he offered them fame for sex. And they agreed.
