President Trump’s firing of John Rood, the top policy official at the Pentagon, is a sign the agency is not immune from an effort to purge from influential positions across the administration “snakes” who do not support the president, according to four current and former officials.Rood had been on the chopping block for months, but his firing just last week amid a spate of other personnel changes shows that the president is finally ready to clean house at a department that has tried to distance itself from politics, they said.“All of them are getting tossed,” a senior administration official told Breitbart News. “You’re either on the team or

Obama retired thousands of senior military officers for political reasons. We need warriors. Not intersectionalists.

Let's hope that everyone that Rood hired will be gone soon, and that there will be a very careful combing throught these "serve at the pleasure of the President" folks to make sure that they SUPPORT the President fully.
When I worked, we would tell out boss if we disagreed with his choices, IF ASKED, and when the decision was made, for the option we wanted or not, we followed through with that option. But, I always hated office politics, never played.

A very good article, beginning to end.
Surprised to hear that this guy was a Vice President of some kind at Lockheed, yet others claim that he couldn't manage his way out of a paper bag. Must be a real big talking blowhard.

Why was he (Rood) allowed to stick around so long after Matis? Sooner and more the better.

Have got past the Rooshians (Mueller) and impeachment (everybody else). The "housecleaning" AKA swamp draining is getting underway pre-election to be sure they are afraid to try it again. Take down the swampsters and then bring on the Durham indictments right around October ( SURPRISE!!! ) As Carville (not that I'm a fan) said," It's the economy stoopid".

It isn't really a matter of whether you're 'on the team' - it's whether you are actually playing for the other side.

We used to think PDT was crazy not to root out the bad guys, but I'm starting to see he had a plan all along. Great man.

#9, I think that if POTUS had begun the purge while Mueller and then impeachment fiasco were on-going, he would have been accused of obstruction or worse. As we know, no matter what he did or said, the quislings were hurling invective and serious accusations. And all of this coordinated effort from the Dem/Left was set in motion from the day Trump won the election.

About damn time. Can't believe how Mattis planted so many rats that are sprouting now. Its great to cleanse out the Pentagon, but what about the criminal intelligence community? The FBI/CIA/NSA axis has done more harm to the country than the defense agencies could ever dream. While this is great news, until we clean out the intelligence community COMPLETELY, not much is going to change.

A lot of words about one guy. I’ll be impressed when folks with stars on their epaulets if found wanting are canned.

Barry Soetoro fired 185 military officers at one time. 35 of those fired were senior military officers one to four star generals who would not do the changes Barry wanted.
Maybe Trump should look at recalling them.

Agree with#16 on the recall of honorable men . It is unfortunate that Obama did extensive damage and in some cases Obama's need to have 'yes' men and not Military Leaders caused harm that will take years to overcome. The loss of good leaders caused deaths and lack of proper training too :( . I look at the current crop of Brass with a jaundiced eye because ALL the true leaders I know were sent packing by Obama. This crop would fire on American citizens.
