Senator Mitt Romney portrays his decision to vote “yes” on removing President Trump as one he came to with difficulty and because of principle. He studied and prayed about it. He quoted scripture and church hymns to explain and justify it. But to me, a former supporter, fundraiser, organizer, and fellow faith adherent, it’s a betrayal.(Snip)Mitt’s first betrayal was his choice to lose the 2012 campaign. The whole nation had seen him snuff Obama during the first debate. He looked like a winner. We thought he was fighting for us. But in the next debate, he (Snip) declined to criticize Obama for his failure to protect four Americans killed in

We all know his vote was because of jealousy. The rest is just BS.

He lied about his religion and Trump called him out on it.

I wonder how much Romney was paid to throw the debate in favor of the PC choice?

Yes, Romney is a lying traitor who should be hung (slowly) by the neck until dead.
Now that we've established that, can we PLEASE move on and ignore this moron?

Surely people in Utah knew what this lefty-leaning big-government, open borders, pseudo-republican carpetbagger from the east really was, and were OK with it, because he wears the right magic underwear. I don't think he betrayed the majority of the people of Utah at all.

I get the same feeling of annoyance and irritation when Romney tries to portray himself as a decent Christian as I do when Pelosi starts twisting the Bible to suit her evil corruption. Neither one have God's ear, for their corruption and lies are a stench to God's nostrils. A man like Romney has no core principles, so it is easy for him to let the winds of opinion blow him where they will. He is an embarrassment to Utah, and the GOP in general. Your governor should also be booted for enabling such a rotten senator to be representing your state.

Jesus spoke against the Pharisees who proclaimed their religion openly, while sinning in private. I'm not suggesting that Romney is a big sinner, but his boasting about his religiosity is reminiscent of the Pharisees.

There is not a politician alive not vengeful and petty. It's all part of the game, and the players' makeup. As the writer points out, "I told (the students) to stop imagining that politicians are pure and holy." They are not. One ascribes pureness and holiness at their own risk, bound the be disappointed.
Romney was the NeverTrumpers' dream. The idea was that he could speak from a higher moral ground, with the deference and respect due him from his 2012 campaign. Apparently his inner circle was convinced "Mitt gave up America’s victory for what he perceived as his own private decency." What a guy...
Today he is giving every indication that he is setting up for the ultimate challenge to PDT. He has separated himself from the MAGA/KAG deplorables and identified with the GOPe interests. He is the extension of the Bush line of wonderful, well-bred and brilliant men who need to become President. If he runs in November as an independent "moderate", as I believe he will, this vote is his entre card with moderates of all stripes - especially if the Dems nominate one of their gaggle of lib boobs. He weighed the evidence and voted accordingly on once article. Mitt's mission will to siphon votes from PDT...well, maybe. It is becoming apparent that there may be some calculating a "moderate" path to victory...let's not forget that the Electoral College is the game, and that the House can also come into play if no majority is established.
Yeah, farfetched...so were Ross Perot and Bill Clinton in '92...and Bush41 was a less polarizing figure as an incumbent president.

So, I’ve recently had a HUGE revelation about Mitt by viewing the arc of his career in retrospect.
I truly believe that Romney/Ryan never ever intended to win the presidency, but rather served as stooges for an Obama victory
There was never an ounce of passion with either Romney or Ryan and, as Rush pointed out during those years - We had no opposition party! We were seriously betrayed.
Thank God for Donald Trump. Daily.
The swamp is so flipping deep!
