Mitt Romney didn't just shoot inside the Grand Old Party's tent by voting for one article of impeachment against President Trump. The Utah senator became a heretic to the very people who once supported him, financially and electorally. (snip) It's about the unconscionable act of voters: electing Donald Trump. Mitt Romney regards the presidency as a rarefied space, where only the best, brightest, and most articulate men may enter. Trump got there while boasting about his libidinousness. He insulted the political class by calling them stupid, incompetent, venal, and wholly self-interested.

I intend no disrespect to the article's author or to anyone else who speculates as to why Pierre Delecto voted to impeach. Speculation makes life interesting and we all do it. However, in this case, I don't care about the hidden reasons behind the Utah Senator's decisions. On the radio this morning, I heard what old Pierre said about his reasons. And that was enough for me to agree with Mr. Trump: Sanctimonious loser! There is nothing holy about that sort of "holiness," Pierre!

And if I remember correctly, one of his associates was involved in the Ukrainian dealings. Could be an additional reason. . .

It was like watching Zoolander fight his brainwashing by Mugatu.
But Zoolander had more moral fortitude and prevailed. Mitt failed. Which makes Mitt not-fit-for-prime-time.

Romney and others in leadership are bonafide UNIPARTY Roundtable members. There is no GOP or Dem party when it comes to graft and grifting...they're all part of the "green" party. If one gets this, the rest of what is happening to PDT comes easily understood.
Romney's "guilty" vote clearly signals he is running for President. And he is running with the blessing of the UNIPARTY to help eliminate the existential threat to this perfidious cabal come November as a "man of conscience". Wait for the formal announcement of a "third party" run for this moderate "statesman" with 24 karat reputation to draw off "moderate" Republican votes from PDT in swing states. Don't think the UNIPARTY cares if the result is a President Bernie or Warren...they're also known crooks with chairs at the Roundtable. Either way business will continue as usual...while the crowds chant U-S-A and rumble on about the perpetual issues.

I don’t know who Taylor Lewis is, but I don’t like them or their POV. I believe that Romney, purely and simply, has been jealous of Trump. Trump got what Romney wanted and failed to get. Romney wanted a high position in Trump’s cabinet. Romney needed Trump’s support for his senatorial run.
Romney doesn’t want to be #2 to anyone. He is a jealous, envious, power-mad piece of work. I don’t care whether he talks Bible till hell freezes over. He is a bad, bad man.

Lets not overanalyze this. He voted the way he did because he puts personal power and enrichment above constitution or country.

The same reason that Crash McCain shouted "No!" on the Zerocare vote. Spite combined with ego and a touch of childishness. Just like a kid kicking over his little sister's sand castle at the beach because she built a better one than he did.

Trump is the best and the brightest man to have been elected to the office ya numty. The problem is he is SUCCEEDING and succeeding beyond the voter's wildest dreams. Trump has not been content to stick by the status quo thinking, he sees a problem, he solves it. That is why we elected Trump. He is truly the first 'man of the people' that we have had in the office in most of our lifetimes. Reagan came close, but still not like Trump.
Romney is a small small petty man so eaten with envy he cannot think straight. He had a great opportunity to win his race, it was his to lose. There was plenty to nail Obama with and he could have been president. But he didn't want it enough to make the effort. So he wanted to be SecState because that would have been perfect for him and his ego.
But Trump saw through him and after a bump named Tillerson, we finally have a great SecState named Pompeo. Romney would have spent most of his time in self serving trips and camera time like Kerry did instead of actually working for the nation. We avoided the bullet named Pierre Delecto/Romney and I am sure glad of it.

It's fairly obvious that with John McCain deceased, Mittens rolled into the Senate fully intending to take up the mantle of the Senate GOP's #1 backside orifice. He's succeeded at that beyond his wildest dreams. His vote to remove Trump was on par with McCain's to save ObamaCare, though while McCain's action was damaging to the nation, Mittens' was damaging only to himself. I pray the people of Utah aren't as indulging and forgiving as the people of Arizona were.

The nation clearly dodged a bullet when talking head Candy Crowley beat up and kicked the wimpy Mittens Romney into the gutter. Romney is of the global investor class and it would be interesting to know how many of his surrogates and how much of his money are or were involved in corrupt places like Ukraine.

Romney made sure Trump did not have 100% support in the senate like he Had 100% support plus one Democrat in the house. He is the first person in history to go against his own party in an impeachment.

This Pharisee disparaged everyone of us who supported true conservatives and President Trump while wearing his self righteous underwear. Many Christians stayed away from the polls during his run for fear of him promulgating a cult like belief. Many know of that which I speak.

romney completed a joint MBA/jD at harvard, and although he did not practice law, he would have learned about 'reasonable doubt.'
And by saying he wanted testimony from Mulvaney and Bolton, and that he hoped they would offer testimony to create reasonable doubt, his saying that is an implicit belief by Romney that there was reasonable doubt.
and while I try not to judge anyone based on their religious beliefs, I have never heard anyone describe themselves as 'profoundly religious,' until romney came along. That was a bizarre statement.
i'm thinking that he forgot to weare4 his magic Mormon underwear yesterday, or forgot where the golden tablets were buried.
