Scotland Yard officers guarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's have said they are treated 'like skivvies' and forced to do 'menial tasks' like picking up takeaways and groceries, it has been claimed. Highly-trained protection staff have also allegedly been seen buying food from an organic delicatessen, a favourite of Meghan's, and picking up coffees from fast food outlet Tim Hortons. A team of 15 guards has been flown to guard the couple and their nine-month-old son Archie at their secluded Canadian bolthole, after they stood back from royal duties. The Duke and Duchess's security is estimated to cost taxpayers in Canada and the UK

I believe someone is confused about the difference between staff and security. I do hope they get it sorted before Grandma decides it's a waste. Remember, *staff* are paid by YOU. Then you can send them on errands. Security,by definition, is not able to do the work if they are running a coffee order.

Sounds like the Markles have been spending too much time with Hillary and Michelle and other tacky wannabe celebrities. Ms. Markle may not have come from much, but surely Harry was taught basic manners. If I were in charge of their allowance, I’d reduce it to zero. They want to behave like commoners, fine, let them get jobs. And bring the staff home!

I don't see this ending well - as in "bodyguards are not there to pick up your lattes and do your shopping. If that's what you want, you need to hire an assistant or two." QEII may have to pull the security detail to make her point.

Markle is a low-breed American actress. Once a low-breed American actress, always a low-breed American actress.

I saw Ms. Markle in a Hallmark movie the other night. She has no talent. She needs to take acting lessons. She acted like a high school student in a play. But Harry said, "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets." He is one stupid fellow. She has used him to get acting jobs and money and fame and power. Do you think that her celebrity friends would be her friends if she had not married Harry? I don't think so. She is acting like a spoiled diva and he is going along with it. One day he will wake up and it will be too late. She has misjudged the American public. We don't like her and never will.

I would suspect that even the "celebs" that are kissing up to her..and legitimate actors are laughing their buns off behind closed doors about her marginal acting abilities.
at some point, they will be tossed aside like a piece of used Kleenex..when the next shiny new "toy" comes along..speaking of laughing behind closed doors. I know fashion people who used to howl with laughter about Big Mike being a fashion icon...

I would love to have 15 servants, how about you? Keep in mind you are working a full time job and your husband is too. You also are struggling with two children....just saying.

The only thing "royal" about these two is when that word appears in front of "pain in the butt." They are pathetic, and here's hoping they both get what they so richly deserve!

I would not be surprised if the combined security detail of both British and Canadian officers numbers over 50 when you take a number of work shifts and days off.
I agree with other posters that this will not end well. Chances are that Meghan will eventually move on as she always has, and that the obviously p-whipped Harry will end up very sad, paying Meghan alimony and child support. Looking back there had to be a reason why Harry was unable to hook up with an English girl throughout the years?

If Harry gets his brains back, he'll move them back to the UK, and then dump her. He has an advantage there, especially if he apologizes and wants back into 'the firm' because he's seen the light and will mend his ways. Markle is bad news 12 ways from Sunday.

I'd be happy to work as an "errand boy" for $15.00/hour plus a free-living quarter, provided I don't have to sign any "non-disclosure" statement.

Why do they have guards ? Didn't they want to be commoners ? Why do they still have titles ? Go away and disappear into the crowd.

Goodness - if true. At least Harry is gone. William was with the entertainment elites tonight at BAFTA pontificating about the need for more diversity with the awards. Barf.

Sending out for coffee is something we don't often do. Firstly when we've done that the coffee needs reheating soon after it arrives here ... why pay top dollar for a special coffee that may likely need reheating. It makes no sense to me. Sending security for groceries is poor management - I'm sure there is a supplier that provides delivery or they can hire a caterer for their super busy schedules. Are they paying for a nanny 24/7?
Doesn't their friend Oprah have a personal chef, perhaps he/she can recommend someone - or they can order from peapod, or a similar service, and cook for themselves - plenty of cookbooks, lots of free recipes online. Time to get real, you have a son to bring up.

Kings and queens get used to (and spoilt by) being kings and queens. I read once that, during the 19th century, a Prince of Wales on a tour of colonial Africa was flummoxed because he he did not have tooth-brushing-power on his toothbrush and was advised that someone had been preparing the toothbrush every morning until then.
