‘Walls Are Closing In’ on the Democrats

On Friday, as I and about 456,874 other people predicted, the Senate voted against calling yet more witnesses in the make-believe, 100 percent certified partisan impeachment fiasco run by the Democrats and their media cheerleaders. That vote brought this lucrative entertainment to an end, de facto if not de jure. The official, signed-sealed-and-delivered end will come Wednesday, we’re told, when the Senate will vote on whether to acquit the president of the two charges on which he was impeached by the House. Spoiler alert: They will. A quick refresher. Those two charges were “abuse of power” and “obstruction of Congress.” Let’s take them in order.

I am wondering if the democrats are going to realize that when the Senate votes in Trump's favor, the impeachment goes away. I don't believe that has occurred to them yet. That will be the final straw for most of them I suspect.

Trump's phone call: FTA - “There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son,” President Trump said, “that [Joe] Biden stopped the prosecution [of Burisma, the corrupt company on whose Board Hunter sat and from which he collected more than $50,000 a month] and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the attorney general would be great.” Ya know, I wonder if someone set him up for the whole thing - "a lot of talk," "a lot of people want to find out".. . Sounds like to me that someone put a bug in his ear and then used it against him.

Christian evangelist Rev. Franklin Graham expressed disappointment with the lack of “moral decency” displayed at the Super Bowl LIV halftime show and the message it purportedly sent to children, writing Pepsi showed “young girls that sexual exploitation of women is okay” and urging society to raise its standards. The Super Bowl LIV entertainment featured pop megastars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, both of whom busted out in a series of crotch-grabbing, hip-thrusting moves throughout the performance. : (Video)“I don’t expect the world to act like the church, but our country has had a sense of moral decency on prime time television in order to protect children,”

When Facebook last fall said it would delete “any and all mentions” of the name of the CIA operative believed to be the "whistleblower” who sparked President Trump's impeachment, it wasn’t kidding. A number of Facebook members complain the social media giant has been taking down recent RealClearInvestigations stories about the whistleblower within hours of sharing them with friends.(Snip)Facebook had no comment. But in early November -- a week after RCI first reported Oct. 30 that CIA analyst Eric Ciaramella’s name had been invoked in heated discussions about the whistleblower during closed-door House depositions of impeachment witnesses — the site warned it would scrub from its platform identifying posts on the

Adam Schiff is starting to wear on his own. He may be the darling of leftwing cable news. But like a moth to a candle, the California congressman is sucked into the camera lights, without realizing how he is scorched and consumed. He hijacked the Democratic House impeachment effort and then did the same in the Senate. As the inspiration for the entire farce, he is the man most responsible for the ensuing damage to the country and his party. (Snip) But what will be the status of a post-impeachment Schiff, once the impeachment farce has lost its luster? Thanks in part to Schiff, President Trump is polling

Chief Justice John Roberts’ expression was priceless after reading Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s garish question during the Senate impeachment trial Thursday night, a question which lacked any remote sense of self awareness. The inquiry facetiously read, “At a time when large majorities of Americans have lost faith in government, does the fact that the Chief Justice is presiding over an impeachment trial in which Republican senators have thus far refused to allow witnesses or evidence contribute to the loss of legitimacy of the chief justice, the Supreme Court, and the Constitution?” The purpose of the question was stunningly obvious.

Mike Bloomberg’s daughter Emma has married for the second time, quietly tying the knot with Jeremiah Kittredge, the scandal-scarred former CEO of a group that advocated for charter schools, The Post has learned. Emma, 40, the billionaire’s elder of two daughters, and Kittredge, 33, have kept their wedding a closely-held secret for a year — never announcing the divorce from her first husband or the new nuptials. The marriage was confirmed Saturday amid Bloomberg’s run for the 2020 Democratic president nomination.

A decade ago, Donald Trump was a registered Democrat. When he joined the presidential race as a Republican in 2015, party leaders scorned him as a gatecrasher and sought to stop his rise. The same Republican establishment now has rescued Trump’s presidency.(Snip)The acquittal will not only cement Trump’s reputation for surviving an onslaught of political perils. It also highlights how the former political neophyte has come to utterly dominate the GOP, with Republican lawmakers bowed by his overwhelming popularity with the party’s base. “He has taken over the party in very short order,” (Snip)“It was almost immediate after he won the election. Former Democratic Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman said that he does not believe there was evidence to impeach President Trump and believes he would have voted to acquit if he were still in the Senate. "The call that President Trump made with President Zelensky of Ukraine was inappropriate, was wrong, it shouldn't have been done," Lieberman said to the Blaze’s Glenn Beck. “But did it reach the point where we can say nine months before an election ... that, if we keep him in office, he represents a danger to the country? I don't think so," he added.

Senate impeachment trial manager Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., is "asleep at the wheel" when it comes to his own district and is ignoring issues that matter, like the state's homeless crisis, Dr. Drew. Pinsky said Thursday. Appearing on "Fox & Friends" with hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade, Pinsky said he started thinking that maybe he should run against Schiff because, every day he doesn't do something, three more homeless people die in the county of Los Angeles. While Pinsky said he is "categorically not running" for Schiff's seat, he couldn't ignore the crisis unfolding in front of him.

If you stand back and look at the totality of the ‘big picture’ behind the Trump-Ukraine impeachment coup it’s clear to see a 2.0 version. The Trump-Russia hoax (coup 1.0) was dependent on a ‘Special Counsel’ because the coup plotters held no other avenue to eliminate Donald Trump. House Impeachment Manager and House Oversight Chairman Adam Schiff warned Monday that President Donald Trump might give Alaska to the Russians if he is not impeached. Schiff disagreed with the president’s lawyers, who argued that Trump’s actions were not criminal and should thus not be considered impeachable. He warned that they were setting a precedent that would only encourage Trump to pursue “unacceptable” actions if exonerated. “Trump could offer Alaska to the Russians in exchange for support in the next election,” he said. “Or decide to move to Mar-a-Lago personally and let Jared Kushner run the country, delegating to him the decision whether to go to war.”

If Steve Bannon is correct (and I think he probably is), Michael Bloomberg has no intention of occupying the Oval Office; his real plan is far more devious and frightening. Bloomberg is investing a small fraction of his fortune (Bannon says it is now $70 billion) in a “leveraged buyout” of the party, installing himself as the oligarch who calls the shots, including the selection of the candidate to win the presidency. Forget the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on the “Mike will get it done” ads saturating the airwaves and the Super Bowl ad touting gun control.

Tax season kicked off Monday, and the biggest question on most taxpayers’ minds is how quickly they will get their refunds. Receiving a refund can normally take up to six weeks, but staffing issues at the agency might make that turnaround time much longer. Customer service is a big part of making tax seasons successful, and the Internal Revenue Service is one of the lowest-scoring agencies in that area, according to the Taxpayer Advocate Service annual report to Congress for 2019. Budget cuts are a contributing factor to the IRS’s poor customer service — it's harder to garner more hires with less money. Agency head count has fallen by 20%

Nobody elected John Bolton to anything. That reality is at the core of what appeared to frustrate Mr. Bolton and numerous other senior presidential aides during my time working in the West Wing for President Trump. As a staffer, if you have a policy disagreement with the president, you have two options: You either subordinate your views to his and fulfill his wishes — or you quit. That does not mean you shy away from making your case behind closed doors — and in my experience the president encouraged dissenting views — but once the president makes a decision, it is your job to execute it
