MIAMI—Teams get here, of course. The 49ers and Chiefs are here, earned their way here, of course. But not the same way, of course.Patrick Mahomes might as well have planned the itinerary, piloted the charter flight from Kansas City, checked his teammates into the JW Marriott Turnberry Resort & Spa in Aventura and cooked up some Florida seafood for his teammates during the week here. Has any player ever been more responsible for carrying his team to a Super Bowl than this 24-year old sensation?Jimmy Garoppolo looks as if he could be starring in “The Bachelor’’ even though he is not starring for his 49ers.

It's a huge difference of the areas and demographic the two teams represent. The Chiefs represent the heartland of America, solid values and work ethic. The 49ers, not so much.
Go Chiefs.

We’re going wine tasting, picking up our wine club selections and having a great lunch on the beautiful terrace of our favorite winery. Since our beloved Chargers were stolen away from us, we’re not much invested in football anymore but I’ll privately root for KC since my liberal sister lives in the Bay area and loves SF. Ha! Hope the commercials are good...

I've made it a standing tradition to purposefully avoid the stupidbowl; great day to shop, hike, do anything; this dumbass Sunday is the quintessential proof of the lowest possible common denominator apart from european soccer.
The thing is, this might actually be a pretty good football game.

With the Vegas line at 1 1/2 points, should be a great game to watch.

Hope it doesn't hinge on a bad penalty call. I'll skip the pole dancers at halftime, if I make it that far.

Kansas yawn plus a field goal to yawn. If it turns out to be worth watching I might DVR it tomorrow over lunch. Otherwise let the overpaid brats kneel away and the escapees from the tiddie bar do their half a show.

What’s the over-and-under on how many cheerleaders or woman commentators Tyreek Hill beats up?

Born in KC and have been a Chiefs fan since day one. Even though we will have the Las Vegas Raiders next year, they’ll never be my team. Our pastor asked for a show of hands for each team this morning. 49ers had about 2 fans and Chiefs had everyone else there. Praying for a Chiefs win. I’m sorry to see so many posts about not caring about football, the Super Bowl, etc. I would venture to guess the president will even watch and enjoy the game. I hope you all find something enjoyable today.

As a KC area resident, I see this exactly as #1 states it. The Left Coast SanFran folks against the Heartland of America, where Normals are......normal and common, unlike in SanFran where Abnormals are the norm.

Ah, the "ultimate game", until they play again next year.

FTA: "Has any player ever been more responsible for carrying his team to a Super Bowl than this 24-year old sensation?" Why, yes. How about Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Brett Favre and a host of others? Not to say Mahomes wasn't responsible, but c'mon! Many others had just as big a role in bringing their teams there. Didn't Garoppolo have any part in the 49ers getting there? How was Mahomes any different? Schwartz says he started four post season games, but did he win all four? He didn't beat the Patriots in a playoff game last season. Give him a little more time to prove himself before you put him on that pedastal.
