Last week when it was announced that Alan Dershowitz was joining President Trump’s legal team, I warned in these pages that his complex argument in the alternative, in which he claims that even if proven what Democrats allege regarding Ukraine does not rise to the level of impeachment, was ripe for mischaracterization. The news media has not disappointed on that score.

Yesterday the deceptive coverage of Dershowitz got even worse.
Alan Dershowitz, one of President Trump's defense lawyers, argued that anything a president does to get re-elected could be considered in the nation's interest and is therefore not impeachable.https://t.co/ptlmibuTni

The MSM is not welcome in my home. I consider my home a sacred place with no room for the endless list of liars from the MSM. May their printing presses melt down.

When I first herd Derchowitz's arguement I wondered what the hell he was doing. The more I think about it the more I agree with him. After all in an ideal world isn't an election a competition between different visions of how to advance the interests of the country? And would not that therefore make it a given that in doing your level best to act on the country's behalf, you cannot help but also advance your own political interest? And aren't elections about choosing a political / policy agenda? (almost same word there)
This is still all about how dare he interfere with Hillary's coronation and how dare he go about the presidency implementing his agenda, the one we the people elected him to do.

Idiots! He said that if what was alleged, even if true, did not rise to the level of impeachment high crimes and misdemeanors. This is typical of the lefties, accuse someone of saying something that they did not say and scream to the high heavens so nobody will notice the lies and deliberate misstatements. Been going on for most of the last century and all of this century.

Here is an interesting letter, published in the Adrian, Michigan, Daily Telegram 10/27/19:
Did you know there’s a comprehensive treaty agreement that allows cooperation between the U.S. and Ukraine in the investigation and prosecution of crimes? It was passed when Joe Biden was a member of the U.S. Senate and signed by then-President William Clinton.
Treaty with Ukraine on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters: “To the Senate of the United States: With a view to receiving the advice and consent of the Senate to ratification, I transmit herewith the Treaty Between the United States of America and Ukraine on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters with Annex, signed at Kiev on July 22, 1998. I transmit also, for the information of the Senate, an exchange of notes which was signed on September 30, 1999, which provides for its provisional application, as well as the report of the Department of State with respect to the Treaty. The Treaty is one of a series of modern mutual legal assistance treaties being negotiated by the United States in order to counter criminal activities more effectively. The Treaty should be an effective tool to assist in the prosecution of a wide variety of crimes, including drug trafficking offenses. The Treaty is self-executing. It provides for a board range of cooperation in criminal matters. Mutual assistance available under the Treaty includes: taking of testimony or statements of persons; providing documents, records, and articles of evidence; serving documents; locating or identifying persons; transferring persons in custody for testimony or other purposes; executing requests for searches and seizures; assisting in proceedings related to restraint, confiscation, forfeiture of assets, restitution, and collection of fines; and any other form of assistance not prohibited by the laws of the requested state. I recommend that the Senate give early and favorable consideration to the Treaty and give advice and consent to ratification.” William J. Clinton.
It appears President Trump was following the law to the letter when it comes to unearthing the long-standing corruption that has swirled in Ukraine and allegedly involves powerful Democrats like Joe Biden and others.

There's media, and then there's media. One is factual, unbiased reporting, and one is propaganda. Sadly, the old, well known media has devolved into propaganda.
Drop all subscriptions. Do not advertise with them. Let them starve for money.

When has the drive-by propaganda media been truthful about anything? Maybe 60 years ago.

It is amazing that the dem's impeachment attempt has also been an abuse of legislative power. They are using taxpayer time and money for their own political advantage.

Schiff, on the floor of the Senate, is running with this as I post. Dershowitz is not a politician. But he did not say what they are saying he said. Their interpretation is at fault, and Schiff is having a field day with it. Recommend a read of this article as it fully explains.
