Des Moines, Iowa—Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren has announced a plan to prevent, contain and treat infectious diseases as a new viral illness spreads in China. The Massachusetts senator on Tuesday unveiled a plan that includes fully funding the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s pandemic prevention and response programs. The agency has faced stiff budget cuts under President Donald Trump, including to emergency funds and global health programs that were established following West Africa’s Ebola epidemic in 2014. “Like so much else, Trump’s approach to keeping us safe from disease outbreaks is a mess,” Warren wrote in an online post announcing the plan.

Medicine Woman Warren have-um heap big plan. Throw the borders wide-open, then treat the imported diseases for free.

Maybe have the CDC actually work to help control diseases instead of doing endless "studies on gun violence" that just try to create "evidence" to take our guns might help. "Fully funded" is a never achieved goalpost set forth by people who have a never ending imagination on more ways to blow other people's money.

The first question that anyone should ask immediately after a barking moonbat leftist makes a proposal is: How much will this cost. Where will the boatloads of cash come from, How much will this cost me, anf finally, Whats the running total of all of your insane proposals? The CDC proposal, alone, doesnt bother me. But couple that with free college, college tuition forgiveness, medicare for all, open borders, welfare for illegal immigrants, healthcare for illegal immigrants and the green deal, etc, etc, and your talking serious serious money. Money that we dont have.

Trump cut the CDC's budget because it was getting into areas that had nothing to do with real mission such as, thanks to Obama, researching "gun violence". Like any gov't bureaucracy, success is measured as growth in budget and personnel -- and their chartered mission gets to be a bore. The result is we have a measles (measles!) pandemic in the US as their focus is distracted by other - none of their business -- interests. They don't need more money, they need to focus on what they were set up for!

Sending money to the CDC to prevent a pending infectious disease crisis is like sending Al Sharpton money to improve race relations. Useless. The CDC has yet to prevent anything. If Lieawatha really was serious, she would close th border. Nothing prevents epidemics like preventing the organism from entering the country.

Walfrie Eliseo Camposeco-Montejo’s pitch to the Guatemalan woman was simple: Let me use your son to get into the U.S., and I promise I’ll send him to American schools. The ailing woman liked the idea. She gave her 12-year-old to Camposeco-Montejo, and they struck off for the U.S. in late 2016 just as another border crisis was developing. Arrested by Border Patrol agents, Camposeco-Montejo used a bogus birth certificate to claim he was the father of the boy and was given the catch-and-release treatment under the “family loophole” in U.S. policy. Four in five women could be missing out on higher wages due to not negotiating pay when applying for jobs, and half of female employees think they are being underpaid, a study has found. The research, conducted by employment law specialists Slater and Gordon, found 70 per cent of those women who ask for more money from their employers receive a proportion or all of the amount they ask for. This contradicts previous studies which have found that when women ask for a pay rise they are less likely to get one than men. Campaigners argue employers often victimise women who complain about equal pay.
