Thousands of gun-rights advocates packed the streets around the Virginia Capitol on Monday, bristling with weapons, flags and threats of insurrection but never erupting into the violence authorities had feared. Armed militias carrying assault-style weapons marched in formation until the crowds grew too thick. Protesters without firearms filed through 17 metal detectors at a single entrance to Capitol Square, where about 6,000 people cheered fiery speeches on the Second Amendment.

It must cause the WaPo great pain to report this. The narrative was supposed to say it was violent.

I admit to being pleasantly surprised...no, astonished that none of the communists managed to instigate anything. Now if they dump those stupid bills I may get some optimism back.

Believe me Antifa was more than spooked. SS (pun intended) for Scared S****less. They probably recall a Texas church shooting where the attacker lasted 6 seconds. There was enough armament down there to take down a tyrant !!! and it was all in the hands of patriotic law abiding citizens. God Bless America.

Hundreds armed with ARs, and not a shot fired, no one hurt. Mostly because the antifa thugs were cowering in their mom's basement, scared to bring their pipes and chains to a rifle fight.

To me, it looks like this was an effort to gauge response/turnout and mapping comms traffic as well as gathering individual cell phone data - as I've said a few times, if you can not remove your cell phones battery the "off" state is only a user GUI, as long as it has a charge it can be interrogated by a Stingray like device and disclose location and history, text messages and more

I guess even a brainwashed moron calculated that coming at someone who is armed and resolute with a metal fence pole, could be their last act of stupidity in this life. Hey bloomers, did you enjoy the rally? Sorry rats. Turns out patriots know how to behave in public. Good job to everyone who attended. Now recall that snake of a Gov.

Gee, the fear mongers are liars. Who would have guessed? The dems cannot tell the truth because they need the public to be fearful. Then the government must step in to save them. We hear stories about how more people are anxious. Is it possible that the dems are scaring them with their lies? The truth is the dems are terrified because they know the jig is just about up. The truth is, shortly the impeachment mess will be thrown back into Nasty Pelousy's plastic face. Then we are going to have an election and the dems are going to be handed their walking papers. Then we will continue to reclaim our rights. The Country will remember we don't NEED big government.

Fearing a repeat of the deadly violence that engulfed Charlottesville more than two years ago, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam plans to declare a temporary emergency Wednesday banning all weapons, including guns, from Capitol Square ahead of a massive rally planned next week over gun rights. That's according to two state officials who were briefed on the plans but not authorized to speak publicly about them. The governor, a Democrat, plans to announce the plans at a news conference Wednesday afternoon because of credible threats of potential violence and extremism, one official said.

"Think about what's happening to the Democrat party," said Varney. "You've got two candidates for the presidency who are socialists and along comes this man who is ... the 11th richest person in the world ... so you've got the socialists, going up against the billionaires. That is a totally divided party."

Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro said the CROWN Act “seeks to advance racial equity” by defining Protected Hairstyles.

The jury just rendered its verdict on punitive damages in the Gibson’s Bakery v. Oberlin College case. Daniel McGraw, our reporter in the courtroom, reports that in addition to the $11.2 million compensatory damages awarded last Friday, the jury awarded a total of $22 million. That brings the total damages to $33 million. We will have the breakdown soon. The jury also awarded attorney’s fees, to be determined by the judge. In closing argument, Gibson’s lawyer Lee Plakas argued: “Why is the country watching you. Because the country agrees that what happened to the Gibsons should not happen to anyone, but could happen to everyone.”

Tens of thousands of people converged in the streets of Richmond, Virginia, on Monday to protest their right to bear arms in the face of swingeing state gun control laws set to be enacted later this year. They started arriving before dawn – army veterans, stay-at-home-moms, attorneys, welders, democrats, republicans – united under banners defending the second amendment and, they believe, a constitution under attack. And many of them came with their guns: AR-15s, long-guns and handguns. Governor Ralph Northam had issued a ban on a list of weapons including guns on Capitol Grounds
