There’s a joke from way back in the 1980s about how the major media would report the announcement that the world is going to end tomorrow. The Wall Street Journal’s headline would say, “World Ending Tomorrow; Markets to Close Early.” USA Today’s headline would say, “World Ending Tomorrow, but We’ll Grin and Bear It.” And the New York Times headline would say: “World Ending Tomorrow: Women and Minorities Hardest Hit.”(Snip for graphic)Meanwhile, the Times has announced its endorsement for president. Big surprise: they have endorsed a Democrat. As they have for the last 50+ years. But wait—they’ve actually endorsed two Democrats: Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren.

Insanity.

Doesn't that imply that it takes two women to equal one man? Rather sexist of them isn't it? Or worse does it mean that all women are the same so it doesn't matter which one you pick? Wow now that is really sexist.

Thank you Powerline that I didn't have to actually look at the NYT.

So lying about your heritage to game the system is ok, but holding up US money to another country for a few days to see that they are not stealing it is impeachable. Got it.

Were there ever any smart people working there? Do they have a Mission Statement? What does it say?

I don't remember the NYT's old mission statement but whatever it was has long been forgotten. Now it's something like, "If you can make it up, we can print it."
Except for that insufferable puppet, Brooks, it sounds like their staff is made up of psychos, millenial rejects, foreign agents and a couple of lesbians who hang those pink hats on the hatrack when they come to work in the mid-morning.

Not surprised, especially by the timing. The whole purpose of the NYT endorsement is to undercut Bernie, in the same way they undercut Howard Dean in 2004. But in pushing Sander's votes to Warren in Iowa, they're still keeping their powder dry for a Biden endorsement down the road, hence the Klobuchar mention. Klobuchar could end up as a VP choice for Sanders.

All of the Democrat candidates are so bad it's hard to pick the corn out of the stool

The NYT has to admit that the Democrat choices are so bad that they are virtually interchangeable. And being "The Gray Lady", they naturally default to the only remaining gray ladies.

The NY Slimes has its audience, and so did the "Reverend" Jim Jones. Saying Liz Warren is the pick of the litter of ugly coyotes is like saying Moe is the smartest stooge.
Sounds to me like the Left Media has decided to throw Bernie under the bus along with old Quip-Pro Joe. I expect Warren to get a brokered nomination and pick Cory Booker as a running mate. Then I pray for a repeat of Nixon vs. McGovern.

#4, no...all that matters is if you are a Leftist Democrat (and not a patriotic Republican).

Amy Klobuchar eats her salad with her comb. All the while dressing down her staffers mercilessly.
After she is done eating her salad, she cleans the oily dressing off the comb by running it through her greasy hair.
Only hope she didn't have the Caesar dressing with anchovies.

The NY Times as an entity can win a Pulitzer Prize for fiction and the Nobel for literature. Fact sneaks in occasionally in weather, stock prices and sports scores, but not enough to overshadow the fiction created by the front and editorial pages.

First thought...the NY Times is still pining for Hillary. Since they only selected women, have to believe they are flaming feminazis.
The fake injun makes sense. She is a top tier candidate (which isn't saying much). Klobuchar hasn't even made it to first base. They could have endorsed PeteButt considering his family role is that of a wife so he's a woman too.
Doubt the NY TImes endorsement will even register as a blip on the political radar screen.
This is all about identity politics, and has nothing to do regarding governing.
