Two Washington Post reporters have a new book, A Very Stable Genius: Donald J. Trump’s Testing of America, on sale on Tuesday. (Snip)"The book states that the meeting took place six months into Trump’s presidency after his generals became concerned about “gaping holes” in Trump’s knowledge of America’s key alliances. The idea was to bring Trump to the Pentagon’s Situation Room, where military leaders, so the plan went, would give him a crash course on who America’s allies were, why they were worth keeping on side, and where on earth they

I read Mattis' book "Call Sign Chaos". His failing was that, just like a lot of generals, he thought he was a politician too. He took issue with Trump's treatment of our "allies", so he did the honorable thing and resigned. The generals definitely didn't get it. The American public was sick and tired of the way they did things, so they elected Trump to straighten out the cabinet, the State Department, and the generals. They don't like being told they've been wrong for fifty years - but they have.

You are supposed to listen to the experts, but what do you do when you discover the experts are just people with loud mouths? Prior to Trump, these generals and state department people were able to set policy because Trump's predecessors didn't really have much in the way of objectives. It really showed with Obama. Topple the Syrian government? Really? Whose idea was that? Doubt it was Obama's. Also Clinton. Probably with Bush II as well to a lesser extent. These generals come along and think they can tell Trump what to do, but he already had a plan with regard to foreign policy. One more thing Trump has shown us is that good help is hard to find in Washington.

No one else would have DARED to call that room of military braid, 'a bunch of dopes and babies!" They had to hear it, to understand that the game plan had now changed. GWB would never in a million years had put it that way. Obama would have been snide and sarcastic, but never this direct.

The pallets of bedding, food and medical supplies sat wrapped in plastic and unused in a warehouse for more than two years while Puerto Ricans suffered through the aftermath of a devastating hurricane and, recently, an earthquake. Now their discovery has triggered a political firestorm. On Sunday, Puerto Rico Gov. Wanda Vázquez fired two more officials in the most recent development since anger broke out over a viral video showing unused emergency supplies – allegedly left-over aid from Hurricane Maria – sitting in a warehouse in the southern coastal city of Ponce.“There are thousands of people who made sacrifices to bring aid to the south and it’s unforgivable that resources

The Wall Street Journal ran a piece, "How Trump Has Kept Solid GOP Support Throughout Impeachment." The story made it seem like President Donald John Trump has twisted arms and bribed Republicans to get them to toe the line. His innocence -- indeed, no crime is cited in the articles of impeachment -- does not seem to come into play in the minds of the people now at the helm of what was once America's finest newspaper. But the main reason Republicans stick with The Donald is he is good president. He is fulfilling his promises, as well as the broken promises of the two Bushes. He is the Postman of Presidents

It’s the ongoing “secret” that everyone knows and it has the D.C. Establishment gnashing their teeth in outrage. Support for President Trump is surging due not only to the remarkably strong economy and international successes for the U.S., but also because of voter backlash against the ongoing insanity that is the Democrat Party – a party currently without any substantive policies or direction. When more than half of the people attending recent political rallies for President Trump are Democrats and Independents it’s a sign the president’s broad-based appeal to tens of millions from all backgrounds could prove impossible for the zany Democrats to defeat in 2020.

Tens of thousands of people converged in the streets of Richmond, Virginia, on Monday to protest their right to bear arms in the face of swingeing state gun control laws set to be enacted later this year.
