Montpelier, Vt. — A bill has been proposed in the Vermont Legislature to decriminalize adult prostitution. The legislation is co-sponsored by four female legislators. Rep. Selene Colburn, a Burlington progressive, said she thinks that decriminalizing sex work will improve safety and health of prostitutes, mynbc5.com reported. “The underlying question is do we need to criminalize consensual sex between adults on any terms?,” she said. Sex trafficking, exploitation and solicitation of minors will remain a serious felony, she said. The bill is in the House Judiciary Committee.

Destroying the American culture and the rule of law is the continuing target of the Democrat Party communists. Don't trust them and NEVER support them. They have been exposed.

Whats the difference between dinner and drinks and a simple cash transaction? Not much. Only one of perception.
The biggest down side of this is that the most entertaining episodes of Cops wont get made anymore.
There is no victim and everyone involved is a willing participant. Its none of the government's business.

Laws in blue states will now only apply to business and regular taxpaying citizens. Others, including all Democrats, can do whatever they like, business and taxpayers will be punished with taxes and fines.

#4, that sound wonderful until you factor in that most of the women are beaten until they submit to this, and are frequently also addicted to drugs so that they can't live without their pimp providing their drugs.
Your pollyanna view is at serious odds with reality.

If its legal for an 18 year old man to wreck his health and risk his life doing roofing for $9 an hour, why not let him take the same risks turning tricks for $200 an hour? (Posting for a friend)

The average age of a prostitute in the U.S. is sixteen. The price of fake I.D.'s in Vermont is about to skyrocket. This is a direct result of the hippies and Bernie bros taking over what was once a great place to live.
The citizens are now a cross between communists, and Libertarians.

The cold weather precludes their rich participation in the homelessness bonanza (e.g. California gov asking for billions to "fight" homelessness), so the corrupt politicians have to find other groups to prey on to get their dirty money. Pure evil. When will the people wake up and throw out their evil leaders?

Now what they need is to discount trip round tickets on express AMTRAK trains with bar cars from Penn Station, New York up to the Vermont cities where the newly legal prostitutes will be hanging out. With effective advertising that would be sure to get AMTRAK out of bankruptcy.

Here is an interesting hypothetical.
If I meet a woman in a bar, for example, who is high on heroin, and I have sex with her, I have committed rape, since she is unable to make informed consent. And I can be prosecuted, and be convicted for felony rape.
It the woman is high on heroin, and I pay her the going rate for a prostitute, can I still be arrested and convicted of rape??

Sex trafficking, exploitation and solicitation of minors will remain a serious felony... for now. Men can marry men, children can have gender reassignment, open deviants can read story books to toddlers in public libraries, and women can kill unborn babies as a proud choice. That's what they mean by "progress."
