Well, Ricky Told Them

If you missed Ricky Gervais’ mind-blowing opening monologue at the Golden Globe Awards, then now might be a good time to fix that. If you’re conservative, or even if you’re just not a social justice warrior, chances are you’ll agree that it was the freshest breath of air that town has felt in decades.
Gervais, who was in his fifth, and allegedly final, year hosting the event, came to the point where he simply didn’t care about being nice to the hypocritical Hollywood Left crowd. The funny thing is, Gervais is anything but a man of the right. He’s a liberal, but he’s also a defender
Gervais gave a wonderful opening monologue, filled with digs at the insufferable dolts in front of him. It was the first time I've ever watched anything to do with The Golden Globes. I only watched his speech and nothing else except the various clips mentioned in the article.
For the life of me, I cannot understand why people have such adulation for those mindless twerps in Hollywood. They are not the roles that they act out and I'm sorry, but playing make believe for a living is not in anyway exceptional or praiseworthy. I have absolutely no reason to give a fig about their opinions about me or anyone else as they are so removed from reality and surrounded by sycophants.
As for Gervais, he is now being labelled as a "conservative" (shock horror), which is ridiculous. I just thought he was funny and have no desire to read anything more into it. Liberals can't take a joke, especially when the joke is aimed at them...they have no humility at all and are not capable of any deep introspection.
To heck with them all! I'd rather read a good book.

I didn't watch it. Can't stand the Hollywood elites and their stupid political awards. I don't go to their boring movies filled with sex and violence. They rail against it and then participate in it for "entertainment" purposes. Most of them are on drugs and alcohol and many just got out of rehab. They abort their babies and call them fetuses while others in the industry take naked pictures of themselves showing off their "baby" bumps. Which is it: baby bump or fetus? They even give themselves BABY showers. They are such hypocrites! That is the nicest thing I can say about them.

Hollywood runs parallel to bloated government. They want your money, they want to tell you what to do, and their "bloating" becomes arrogance. We have a President who wants to return power to the American voter. Over the weekend, I was thinking about how many taxes we pay. Income tax, property tax, sales tax, inheritance tax etc. Tax, tax, tax and the list goes on. I probably forgot some of the taxes but Democrats will figure out how to get more out of you.
Yet, people still want to vote for them or support Hollywood. Perplexing.

I’ve never heard of Michelle Williams, but the author nailed her, all of Hollywood and all of the pro-abortionists with one sentence -
“She might as well have just taken the stage and proclaimed herself to be a manifestly awful human being. “I value this metal trinket more than the life of my own flesh and blood,” was essentially what she said.”

By all means, click on the link in the article and see Ricky's monologue. It's under 8 minutes and full of great jokes.
The jokes are all the better because they are partly true. It's the only thing I've watched from one of those self-congratulatory awards shows in years.

Don't watch these TV events, but did watch Gervais afterwards because of the publicity. I'm sure there are many in the entertainment industry who agree with him, but their connections are important to their livelihood, and they (for the most part) cannot afford to put their careers and income into a downward spiral.

Ricky Gervais is British, so he was in a great position to call the Hollywood fools out for their ridiculous tantrums. I suspect a lot of Hollywood woke up yesterday to the realization that the World doesn't respect them like they always have thought. The World sees them and their fellow idiots in the media as the fools they really are. Good on Ricky for telling it like it is. Believe me, Hollywood needs Europe and their creativity more than Europe needs Hollywood.

Ricky spoke truth to foppery. It was sweet. And there was much rejoicing among the righteous. The question now is, will this represent a turning point? All of the quiet members of our society who have been cowed into submission by the politically correct have just been offered a shining example of the fact that they don't need to take it anymore. A secular liberal has just granted them permission to stand up for common sense and traditional values. Will they do so?

Because Ricky Gervais has all the money he'll ever need, he gives zero Foxtrots. And that meant scorched earth. Good. The pompous denizens of Hollywood richly deserved it, and more.

DeNiro, Pacino, Hanks, Scorsese, Streep...it doesn't get any more elderly than this line-up.

Always remember, actors and actresses are "children" in reality acting out fantasies...
