Iraqi lawmakers approved a resolution Sunday calling to expel U.S. troops from the country, following an American drone attack that killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
The resolution asks the Iraqi government to end the agreement under which Washington sent forces to Iraq more than four years ago to help in the fight against the Islamic State terror group."The Iraqi government has an obligation to end the presence of all foreign forces on Iraqi soil and prevent it from using Iraqi lands, waters, and airspace or any other reason," Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi said in an address to lawmakers before the vote.

Their parliament consists of 329 members. Read that between 170 and 180 voted for U.S. to leave, 0 to stay. The rest abstained. The yes votes represented Shia (Iranian) areas...Surprise! Still, wouldn't mind if we did leave and never went back -- -- unless to Kurdish territory.

President Trump should take the Iraqi Parliament up on its offer to remove all the American troops out of Iraq ASAP. Changes are if Trump did that, leaving Iraq to be beat up by Iran, that parliament would quickly reconsider their vote.

K. Pull 'em out now. Last time Iran and Iraq had at it, took 10 years and neither on came out ahead. Pull the US troops and let Iran have another crack at you.

The people that voted for this...Are they Iranians or Iraqis? They are suppose to be Iraqis who have sworn to protect Iraq. Why are they supporting Iran? Iran is no friend of Iraq. It is clear Iraqi parliament is not doing their job. They aren't looking out for Iraq. Perhaps the Prime Minster of Iraq should dissolve parliament.

If US forces leave Iraq, the MONEY goes with them.
Half the reason that we still have bases in Europe is because pulling up stakes would financially devastate the local economies.

Bring everyone home, shut down their consulate in Washington and/ or New York, kick them all out of the US and stop all foreign aid. Let them kill each other, which is what they've been doing for a 1000 years. Only the dems and the politicians on the take from military suppliers will be upset.

All Iranian b.s. Parliament lacked a quorum, due to Kurds and others boycotting the session. The weakling Prime Minister is only a caretaker PM (as well as Iranian puppet). The Iranians are controlling the press and have their stooges in Parliament, but this is going nowhere.

We spent a trillion dollars and 5000 killed, and for what? Iraq, like Afganistan, is a waste of resources and a waste of time. Next time if any politician wants to rehabilitate a country in the middle east, try testing some of new nukes on them.

My only concern in any of this is the effect of our allied/military relationship with Israel if we withdraw. Same with the Kurds.

Quit trying to "reform" countries and do what we do best -- bomb the snot out of them when they aid in the deaths of Americans. Don't occupy them. Bomb them.
Let's get out of Iraq. Blow the deepest hole imaginable where the embassy now sits, and post a sign: "This is Where We'll Bury You if We have to Come Back."

Iraq is run by Iran and their proxies. I've suspected it for years and now I'm learning it's true.
