It was an inevitable, though farcical and ridiculous, ploy of the left-stream media to hoist Colin Kaepernick onto a pedestal in a review of sports in the past decade. USA Today's For The Win blog argues that he was the most important athlete of the decade. This is not a joke! Feature writer and editor Chris Korman's choice of most important athlete of the decade played little more than half a decade in the NFL. In six years he threw just 72 touchdown passes and lost 30 of 58 games as a starting quarterback.

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. Way to ruin sports. SJWs ruin everything.

He destroyed the NFL all by himself. Check the empty seats and see for yourself.

A clear cut winner? He won unemployment, lost career and ridicule. Almost as stupid as USA Today who lost me decades ago.

"Most important" necessitates the question, "for what?" The award is clearly not objective, and its focus is clearly not sports.

It makes no difference how much an "athlete" actually excels at his or her sport, it only counts what sort of stupid, obnoxious, almost always massively uninformed or misinformed, statements that the "athlete" makes, and how often.
Colin K is a former athlete, of very, very limited skills on the athletic field. He is just a mouthy America-hater of great ignorance, so he is loved by USAToday's propaganda staff.

You mean “important” like Hitler made Time’s Man of the Year because he was important?

I was thinking the same thing about Kapernack - what with those zero Super Bowl rings and no individual or team records he doesn't hold. Couldn't happen to a creepier creep.

This is the most ridiculous decision since Skippy "won" the Nobel Peace Prize. At first blush one would think that an athlete with superior skills and entertainment value who wowed us with great play might have been recognized. But then again, USA Today, meh.

The media wanted very badly for Kaepernick to be important. He isn’t. He is mostly shunned as a publicity seeking 3rd rate player who is PR poison for the NFL. If he was a great player they would overlook his personality. They don’t need to bother.

It may be true. I haven't met an important athlete yet, nor ever heard of one. So if he's even a little important, he could be the most important.

The word athlete implies that one has skills or gifts that are used in contests requiring physical agility. Colin Cancer's career suggests strongly that he doesn't qualify as an athlete, much less an important one. He is a bitter fool.

I can't afford to buy any new keyboards when I spew coffee all over them, especially Krapernick, Polosie, Schumer, et al. USA Today is beyond heinous. I am proud to say I have only purchased one copy. It was when Ricky Nelson died in a plane crash. My first rock and roll hero.

Who cares what USA Decay declares? Kaepernick got into Fox News today by tweeting about how racist America kills black and brown people and engages in imperialism. Bleech
