The Most Irritating person of 2019 is....

We are now looking at 2019 in our rear view mirrors, since it is time for those irritating “The Best/Worst of the year” lists. This past year was full of irritations, on many levels, from the shallow and superficial, to the rarest of rare political actions taken by the most irritating Congress in history. Let’s start with some of the candidates:Speaking of shallow and superficial, there is that previously little-known actor Jussie Smollett. His claim to fame was as a character in the FOX TV show “Empire.” Smollett, a gay black man, became a hero portraying, you guessed it: a gay black man.

Dittos to all of the above PLUS: Designers that decided "leggings" (skintight spandex) should be used as stand-alone pants paired with a waist-length top. Have the wearers taken a really good look from the back and side in a full-length mirror? Do they really think they look pretty? Do they care that they actually look desperate and pathetic? I remember when "ski pants" came out (in the 80s?), and it was suggested that no one over a size 6 or 8 should wear them. Ski pants were tame compared to this form-fitting silliness that subjects the general public to spectacles best left in a downscale tavern. Recently one of the "grandmothers" at grandparents' day at a large upscale Christian school in Dallas was wearing these spandex pants with a short top. (At another event at the same school, one grandmother had a full chest tattoo worn with a sundress. But that's another topic.)

However, IMO the piece of cake has to go to the mayor of Bend Over, Indiana who cannot be criticized due to having a husband he can't stop kissing in public. Butt-judge is the winner simply because he is not just irritating but effectively evil by wrapping himself in misquotes and revisionist statements from the Bible. The question I always ask myself about him is: "If Dante was still alive and re-writing his Inferno, exactly which circle of Hell would he stick sneaky Pete in?" Would he go into the Second Circle reserved for Lust --- or the Sixth Circle of Heretics for sinners who mislead people away from the true God source. The deeper down the better, I'd guess!

Since announcing his candidacy for President in 2015, Donald Trump has dominated the national news cycle — largely to the benefit of legacy media companies. As a growing amount of their airtime centered upon their hatred of the businessman turned politician, many witnessed sharp increases in their audience sizes. The New York Times, for instance, saw more subscriptions in the last three months of 2016 than all of 2015 combined. During election week in 2020, CNN saw a 135% increase in viewership over the first week of November 2019. After the inauguration of President Biden, however, legacy media saw double-digit drops in their viewership.

Democrats call their current massive spending bill a "COVID relief" bill, but the half-trillion-dollar bailout of state governments has nothing to do with COVID-19 relief. Plenty of states are doing poorly fiscally, but generally, this has nothing to do with the pandemic and everything to do with their own mismanagement. This was a disputed point back in the spring, but no more. The numbers are in. The coronavirus has not left most states struggling for revenue the way people originally expected. The Congressional Budget Office is anticipating 4.6% economic growth in 2021. That surge, which will come along with the lifting of coronavirus restrictions, will serve as its own stimulus package

The Royal Family was left reeling this morning after Meghan Markle tearfully revealed that the stress of royal life made her suicidal when she was five months pregnant, claimed Archie was denied the title of prince because he is mixed-race and said Kate Middleton made her cry before she married Harry in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple also chose to reveal that they are having a baby girl to the tens of millions of people watching the CBS show broadcast in the US before accusing the Royal Family of racism and revealing the deep rift 'Megxit' has caused with Prince Charles and Prince William.

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. Rep. Steve Cohen vowed to renew the push to remove former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the bureau’s downtown Washington headquarters, according to an interview released Monday. Appearing on Yahoo! News’ Skullduggery podcast, the Tennessee Democrat said the effort is getting a fresh look after the release of a new movie highlighting the FBI’s secret program to discredit civil rights activists. The Washington Times in 2019 first reported Democrats’ bid to strip the longtime FBI director’s name from the bureau’s headquarters. Mr. Cohen said the impetus to revive the bid is the new movie, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The movie details

“There must have been a moment, at the beginning, when we could have said –-no. But somehow we missed it.” Tom Stoppard The millions of Americans who were paying attention throughout the 2020 election campaign all became painfully aware of the fact that Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities were slipping and slipping fast. His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man. Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.
