In supposed apology to Richard Jewell,
Tom Brokaw revises history

Like his deeply flawed coverage of the 1996 Olympic bombing, Tom Brokaw’s so-called apology this week to the late Richard Jewell leaves much to be desired. The NBC News special correspondent this week said in the first of two nearly unintelligible tweets: “re richard jewell. 24 hours after the bombing i talked at length with a sr fbi official - who did not wave me off jewel as a suspect. i reported that and speculated why. but my last line was for now he’s just a person of interest. when the truth emerged i apologized.” Brokaw added in the second tweet, “nbc made a substantial $ payment to the family

That apology and cash payment must be cold comfort. I bet the stress from being falsely accused and in the National spotlight, drove Richard into an early grave.

Tom Brokaw is a world class jerk whose ego knows no bounds. He didn't apologize until this week. He has always been political and never cared about the truth. How many more mistakes does he need to apologize for?

I find it interesting that Brokaw, whose job it was to speak, has a speech impediment. Why would a network hire a man to speak, if he can't speak properly? The Price Is Right hired Drew Carey to host the show, and Carey has the same speech impediment as Brokaw. Carey, who has to say 'dollars' many times in each one hour episode, instead says 'dowers,' instead, just like Brokaw. The difference between the two is that Drew Carey does a good job.

Brokaw followed closely in the footsteps of Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, affectionately know at the rime as Finkley and Pinkley. They were pushing Socialist propaganda at the time and were trying desperately to out do Walter Cronkite, the Godfather of fake news!

I was never an msm junkie so had more limited contact with Brokenjaw. But, when I did view his newscasts, his hard left liberal politics were always quite obvious based on what he chose to report, how he chose to report it, and what he chose to ignore. When we were kids, the msm consisted of ABC, NBC, and CBS. Television, radio, and newspapers. My folks used to worship Walter Cronkite, until they peeled the onion and discovered what he really was. These were the unfortunate seeds that became today's msm of fake news.

The media needs to do more than just apologize for their driving decent people into the venue of being falsely accused and then not fixing the mess THEY created. They need to face punishment as well. This is so much more than free speech. This is blood libel hiding behind the shield of free sheech. When are the courts going to recognize and punish that? Like the old saying, 'where do I go to get my reputation back?' Well I can tell you it isn't the media. They will never admit that they are the ones who drive this machine.

Brokaw does suffer from lambdacism--Barney Frank demonstrated rhotacism--not serious offenses unless one has to speak publicly for a living. Elmer Fudd belonged in the cartoons. So does Brokaw, not because he can't properly pronounce an "L" but because he's always been an undisguised Democrat, doing the bidding of the Left. It's not surprising that Brokaw would come to the defense of the MSM, who couldn't contain themselves and had to take this supposedly wannabe cop Richard Jewell all the way down. They did, and they were worse than wrong. What they did to Jewell was evil, and they had themselves a big time casting aspersions at him and making false charges against him. For most of the Nation, bad news is big entertainment, even if it's all lies.

I know nothing or care about Tom Brokaw. He is second generation commiecaster. I quit watching all the network news at age 20 when I returned from the war being in my 70s now. I viewed all the fake newscasters as liars. Cronkite was the worst of them then the young imbedded reporter Dan Rather followed. What they reported about the Vietnam war was all lies and it's even clearer today with the internet to filter their lies out. I had to school my parents about what I thought about the evening news with these lying commie hypocrites. Brokaw is following in the footsteps of his predecessors a lying slug under the guise of news reporting. Richard Jewell has to be one of the saddest mistakes ever covered by the lying fake media and Brokaw a purveyor of it.

Maybe Democrats have decided that, in the era of President Trump, honesty is no longer required. Or maybe Elizabeth Warren is just too insecure to tell the truth about her own life. Whatever the reason, the Massachusetts senator has built her campaign on a foundation of exaggerations and misrepresentations. It's common knowledge by now that Warren, one of the top four 2020 Democratic presidential contenders, identified as a Native American, despite being somewhere between 0.1% and 3% Native American and having zero experience in tribal life. If only her misrepresentations began and ended there. Ask her constituents in Massachusetts and they may remind you that the senator also fibbed when she promised

The Senate Republican playbook should be put House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on mute and get this trial started. Pelosi and the Democrats have no say in the matter. They don’t. And by withholding the articles of impeachment against President Trump because they know it faces certain death in the Republican Senate creates a new constitutional crisis of its own. This isn’t about a fair trial. As Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberley Strassel noted, a trial would only further degrade their position in the polls on this impeachment push. It was never popular from the start, and now it’s underwater nationally. It’s especially not popular

If you’re depressed by the state of the world, let me toss out an idea: In the long arc of human history, 2019 has been the best year ever. The bad things that you fret about are true. But it’s also true that since modern humans emerged about 200,000 years ago, 2019 was probably the year in which children were least likely to die, adults were least likely to be illiterate and people were least likely to suffer excruciating and disfiguring diseases. Every single day in recent years, another 325,000 people got their first access to electricity. Each day, more than 200,000 got piped water for the first time.

Taxpayers in California and New York shoulder some of the heaviest tax burdens in the nation, and now new data show the two have something else in common: Their growth rates have slowed. It’s probably no coincidence. According to the California Department of Finance, during the year that ended June 30, more people left the Golden State than moved in — the first time that’s happened since 2010. Its net population grew by 141,300, to 39.96 million. That’s a increase of just 0.35 percent, down from 0.57 percent growth over the prior 12 months. Together, the two years mark California’s smallest growth in more than a century.
