The editor-in-chief of Christianity Today, Mark Galli, wrote an editorial calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
In my view, this editorial only serves to confirm one of the sadder realizations of my life: that religious conviction guarantees neither moral clarity nor common sense.
The gist of the editorial -- and of most religious and conservative opposition to President Trump -- is that any good the president has done is dwarfed by his character defects.
This is an amoral view that says more about Galli than it does about the president.

I am not fit to make God's judgements for Him, and I am immediately on guard against those that do. Gali, the editor of Christianity Today, seems to be in the category of "Christians" that does not have faith in God's plan. For Gali to use the platform Billy Graham created to make these cheap shot political points right before he retires will probably doom the publication.

Like Huckabee said, Christianity Today will become ''Christianity Yesterday!'' I think the Devil has taken control of the rag.

"Galli's view is purely self-serving; he's saying, "We Christian and other conservative opponents of the president think in moral terms, while Christian and other conservative supporters of the president think in political terms.""
Galli is trying to link himself with Christians who have a problem with PDT's language, jokes, etc. However, the majority of the people he's linking himself to have the adult ability to think next level. Unlike his childish, leftist thinking, they are able to understand everything that Prager lays out in the article about the President's accomplishments and real acts of morality. Galli can't see past the social justice and virtue signaling of neo marxism that clouds his brain. Marxist believe that they can use names and terms to define themselves, but their words, actions, and beliefs betray them; but we're not supposed to notice. Call your rag Christianity Today, but that doesn't mean you speak for Christians or Christianity today.

Galli’s insinuation that he has some kind of religious moral authority over the President is un-Christian on its face. He does not. He became another temporary plaything for the Left, who secretly hate him for claiming to be an evangelical. Time for the rest of us to move on and let him drown in his own slimy pool.

George Soros used several "front charities" to obtain control of Christianity Today a few years ago.
His mouthpiece authored this anti-Trump article.

Christianity is also about redemption and change. I know this isn't a Mitt Romney thread, but one of the things (as a Utahn) that really bugs me about Mitt is his constant references to President Trump's character - without allowing for the fact that people can change. Mitt himself supported a woman's right to choose when he was running for office in Massachusetts (a character flaw in my opinion), but then asked us to believe him when he said he had evolved and was a pro-life presidential candidate. Still Mitt and others don't allow the president to evolve and change, but always judge him based on the person he was 15, 20, 30 years ago.

Word to Mark Gallii: To quote the words of the immortal theologian William Martin Joel, I'd rather laugh with the Sinners than cry with the Saints. The Sinners are much more fun.

Gali has been anti-Trump for years. The only reason this is in the news is that the MSM knows nothing about religion, unless it serves their purpose. Morals and politics used to be as one until BJ Clinton split the two in the 90s. That's when Democrats decided morality didn't matter as long as presidents were fine with abortion. Morality and politics remain divided. Does anyone think Democrats will change their mind about Republicans should Trump be impeached? Ask them what they'd think of President Pence.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Ow! Who threw that? Oh, it was Mark Galli.
Galli is just another example of a Christian selling out to some corrupt rich person for table scraps. Don't judge, lest you yourself be judged, Mark.
Trump may not be perfect, but he was better than 90% of the other choices in 2016, and better than 100% of the choices in 2020. Seriously, Trump seems to be more honest than most of our career politicians.

There has only been one perfect Person in history and Mr. Galli is most assuredly not perfect. Neither is Donsld Trump. Every one of us is flawed in some way. And that includes Mr. Galli. He is casting stones he has no authority to cast.
His own character leaves a lot to be desired; I'm sure if we dug deeper into it we could probably find a number of unsavory things for which he could be castigated.
As for me I am grateful to the Lord every day for installing Donald Trump as President. He obviously saw somethng in him that Mr. Galli is too blind to see (perhaps willful blindness).
He should also recall that the Lord called King David a man after his own heart. And we all know that he had several serious 'hiccups' during his lifetime but he was wise enough and humble enough to repent.
Mr. Galli lacks both wisdom and humility. If he was smart he would try to find both before it is too late.

I don't know how many Christians have actually read the Bible from beginning to end but I would venture to say that Mark Galli has not. If he read the Old Testament, he would find out that there were leaders that encouraged people to stray from God and leaders who followed in His ways and encouraged his people to do the same.
Donald Trump is not perfect but why do I need to keep bringing up that point? No one is. God is sovereign and the divisiveness that occurs is when people don't want to accept it. Donald Trump is one of those leaders who encourages people in their faith. Unlike the previous administration who leaned on his own understanding and expected people to follow in his ways.

Who made Galli the judge of moral terpitude?
Anyone looked into Galli's moral character? A good detective would probably find he has a few questionable acts and decision in his closet. Becareful of those who hold themselves out to be Moral examples of goodness and purity. Would love to see how clean his glass house is.

For those who may not be inclined to cite scripture or other data refuting Galli, let me offer instead the simple "smell" test: in this case, the reaction of the media to his article.
Isn't it amazing that the very people who mock and appear to openly hate Christians are now fawning all over a Christian who parrots their anti-Trump agenda? Together with Pelosi et al claiming they are constantly praying for the President while they wrap themselves in the Flag and clutch a copy of the Constitution, the media's willingness to grab hold of Galli's article and "preach" its premises should be proof enough that it has little merit.

Since Christianity Today inserted itself into politics and demanded that President Trump be removed from office, which of the Democrat candidates do they suggest we evangelicals vote for? All of the Democrat candidates approve of gay marriage, abortion-on-demand, open borders for illegal immigrants and a host of other unpalatable policies, so which one do they suggest people of faith get behind in the next election? I wish I were a subscriber to CT magazine so I could cancel it now.

Right on the money, Dennis Prager! What is perhaps most concerning to me is Galli's incredible self-righteousness and elitism. He has castigated Trump-supporting Evangelicals in the book, "Still Evangelical?" a year ago, as those who "often haven’t finished college, and if they have jobs (and apparently most of them don’t), they are blue collar jobs or entry level work." Sounds a lot like Clinton's basketful of deplorables, doesn't it?
If finishing college is the touchstone of being a true Evangelical, I guess Mr. Galli ignores perhaps 99% of the professing Evangelical Christians in the world today. It doesn't take an advanced degree in theology or membership in the liberal "Christian" brie and chablis crowd. It takes the faith of a little child.

Mr. Galli is a coward and a religious idiot. He betrays an astonishing lack of the basic understanding of the teachings of Jesus let alone the stories of the Hebrew Scriptures. Mr. Galli let me introduce you to Paul of Tarsus. Cephas aka Simon Peter. Also King David was putz in his personal morality, same with King Solomon. The Lord uses imperfect vessels to bring about his zwill.

There is even more fundamental question. Is the editor of CT judging upon personal knowledge about Trump, or the admittedly false political smears and media articles that paint him as a racist, for example.
