WASHINGTON - After three years in office, President Donald Trump has remade the federal judiciary, ensuring a conservative tilt for decades and cementing his legacy no matter the outcome of November's election.
Trump nominees make up 1 in 4 U.S. circuit court judges. Two of his picks sit on the Supreme Court. And this past week, as the House voted to impeach the president, the Republican-led Senate confirmed another 13 district court judges.
In total, Trump has installed 187 judges to the federal bench.
Trump's mark on the judiciary is already having far-reaching effects on legislation and liberal priorities. Just last week, the 5th Circuit struck down a core provision

Typical WaaPoo fair. The angst is humorous.
"liberals can't "cling to romantic notions of our courts as impartial,""
A Conservative judge is about as "impartial" as you can get. Conservative judges, in general, have to decide what the LAW says in reference to the case before them. If the law is well written, the judge's personal opinion means little. Impartiality is almost built in. In addition, Conservative judges are NOT looking to make new law. They constrain their decisions to the particulars of the case and use careful language to limit its impact.
However, a liberal judge decides the case and bends (or ignores) law to give the outcome they feel is right. That guarantees that the judge will be personally involved in the decision. Plus, liberal judges are Social Justice Warriors, seeking to make changes that reach across all society. Impartiality is excluded in seeking to do the right thing.
"Wheeler worries that the polarization of judge appointments will cause the judiciary to lose public trust"
Nothing to worry about. Return lawmaking to the legislature where is appropriately belongs. If people don't like the law, blame the people who wrote it. Elect people to change the law. People that disrespect a Conservative judiciary are really disrespecting the body of law that defines the legal boundaries of the Country. They are dissatisfied because they can't play by the rules in the Congress and win. They have been cheating by using the courts to do an end run around proper government procedures and perverting the role of the courts.
Trump has tossed a major roadblock in their paths. When he is reelected, he will solidify it.

It is unfortunate that our federal "judiciary" has politicized itself to the point where something like this is necessary. I am increasingly coming to the view that the lower federal courts should be abolished.

Unfortunately, barring an act of God, it is unlikely that President Trump will be able to replace Cheif Justice Roberts. But he will be able to further dilute his leftward tendencies.

Just remember, Congress can change the number of Supreme Court Justices, and/or eliminate lower courts. The only way to ensure the judiciary remains remade is to throw the Communists out of power...

FTA: ''Chris Kang, chief counsel of Demand Justice, a group that supports liberal judicial nominees, wants Democrats to recognize just how high the stakes are for 2020. "Republicans have been using the courts to achieve policy priorities that they couldn't achieve through the democratically elected legislative branch of government," Kang said.'
As usual, 100% AS USUAL, the damned liberals are doing exactly what they always do: Accuse Republicans of what they themselves are actually doing. They really need a new playbook, this one is in tatters and President Trump is setting it on fire, page by page.

Mommy, I'm scared! That bad orange man is getting rid of all of the Obama judges and replacing them with mean people. RBG is still breathing (barely) but he has his eye on her chair.

In 2016 I was planning on sitting out the election. About two weeks before election day I started thinking about who I wanted appointing federal judges. I knew what type of "judges" Clinton would appoint and by that time Trump had released his list of possible SC appointees. I voted for Trump because of the power to appoint judges then and I will vote for Trump again in 2020 for the same reason.

Let's hope that soon the "bear arms" part of the Second Amendment won't be so darned confusing for the judges across the country to "interpret".
What COULD the founding fathers have meant by such a complex, difficult to understand phrase? So, so murky to "interpret". Does it refer to the use of arms by ursus Americanus? Or something else entirely? WHAT could they have meant?
It couldn't POSSIBLY be for every ordinary citizen to carry GUNS around whenever they wanted, obviously, that would be just WAY too dangerous. Those darned deplorables are far too stupid to be trusted with GUNS!
/s off
One day, we may get back to the REAL Second Amendment.

And he's doing quite a fine job of it if I may say so. Keep up the good work Mr. President.
