The Seattle Times has issued a new style guideline instructing staff to capitalize the word “Black” when referring to a culture, ethnicity or group of people, the newspaper announced Thursday evening. The word “white,” however, will remain lowercase when referring to people with “light-colored skin, especially those of European descent,” the newspaper said. The publication explained that capitalizing the term “Black” is necessary because it is a reflection of shared cultures and experiences, like foods, languages and music.” The word “white” however will remain lowercase because it merely refers to the physical description of people “whose backgrounds may spring from many different cultures,”

Comments:

Are their remaining customers Mostly black, or mostly White? Those shunted to the Back of the Bus might take offense at this divisive Pandering and Stop buying the rag.
Seattle Times employment application question: "How much do you hate white people?
A, a lot.
B, a whole lot.
C, with every fiber of my being, even more than I hate The Orange Man.
"C? Welcome aboard, comrade!"

This past Spring they also changed how they will allow on-line comments. They no longer allow comments if the story is from the New York Times, Washington Post, Associated press or UPI, etc. Only on stories that are local and then only if it's non controversial. In this way the few conservatives, like me, who do read the paper (only on-line) no longer even have that small voice to correct the bias that's in all their stories.

Identity Politics is what defines the Left. Our so-called- leaders should be working towards implementing goals to benefit all members of society, to bring us together under one banner, the American flag. But the Left exists to perpetuate ITSELF, and so must constantly create division and sow discord in order to claim it's need to exist. They are like firemen who set blazes and then loudly proclaim that, if not for them, the fires wouldn't get put out. Their end game is power-power to rule to control, to subjugate, to turn us into a giant ant colony where We The People are the workers who service the Left Elites, the ruling class.

When you see what makes up the City Council in Seattle, this is not a surprise in the least. Minority Leftists are not gonna worry about anyone who is White. They should though, because this paper is the main one read in the suburbs, which by the way are majority White. I have no problem with my capitalization. First Obama was (p)resident Obama, Trump is President Trump that's for starters. The party democrat is always lower case. All democrats are 'buffoons' lower case. The movement is progressive communist lower case. White is white and black is black except when stating a sentence. That's why I never started a sentence with president Obama. the seattle times is a blatant racist publication no capitalization is needed at all in that sentence. See how that works?

I also dropped the Seattle Times decades ago, when on the front page, below the fold, they accused Rush Limbaugh for the reason Timothy McVeigh bombed a building in Oklahoma. I made the call within 5 minutes of the paper arriving. I was beyond angry and stunned and actually called a local talk show and vented about The Times. They are practically wobbling on one leg to survive. They, like many papers have sold off other properties to stay afloat. The Seattle Post Intelligencer, a second daily paper is long gone. Thankfully.

It is of vital importance to race hustlers to pretend to have a common culture. But, Blacks who are professionals tend to not buy into the black culture of hip hop, promiscuity, illegitimacy, violence, drugs and malt liquor. They also are not likely to smoke - menthols or non - and they don't own hundreds of pairs of sneakers. They also don't go clubbing all night long. In order to justify affirmative action/quotas/preferential hiring, race hustlers have to pretend that their bruthas are all alike. And they are not. (Black African graduate students, in my experience, were amused by their fellow blacks who were American.)

New Zealand is going assault weapon free. Authorities in the country say more than 50,000 firearms have been handed over to the police after a nationwide gun buyback program. The initiative began after a massacre at two mosques in Christchurch which left 51 dead in March. All told, the government has spent roughly $66 million on the effort.
