ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE, MARYLAND — Flanked by two fighter jets and in front of a giant American flag, President Trump on Friday signed the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act that officially created the Space Force, the sixth and first new military branch since 1947. “For the first time since Truman, we will create a brand new American military service,” Trump said. “You will witness the birth of the Space Force. That’s a big moment and we’re all here for it.” “Space is the world’s newest warfighting domain,” Trump said. “American superiority in space is absolutely vital.” The creation of the Space Force marked the achievement

I had a laugh when I saw the Space Force logo. They copied the NASA "meatball." The only changes they made was to change the color of the ball from blue to red and replace "NASA" with "Space Force."

With the recent release of UFO video by the military, and now our new Space Force, its just a matter of time to announce that aliens are here

I really don't get why this wasn't part of the Air Force. I recall SatCom was controlled by Navy folks back in the day. REALLY messed with me out in the field with a manpack radio and fold out antenna..whining at me in clear voice that it was too powerful! What 3watts??? Get a grip. My lifeline to the world and you can't attenuate it to keep a mission going?

They have him. They ridicule him. But he keeps on doing great things. This is a great thing. And generations from now will honor and appreciate what he has done.
This nonsense now is just noise. The stamping of little feet.

Not "have him", but "hate him".

It may be too soon. The mission would be too narrowly defined to justify the trouble and expense of an entirely new service. Unless, as another poster suggested, its time to reveal the space guys or some other revelation like a faster than light drive or some type of teleportation. That would explain the ridiculous federal budgets of late.

They still won't tell us about the bases on the moon and who built them.

I tend to agree with #10. First, we are not going to Mars with our current technology https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESQ1bKd7Los
Second, even the moon base idea will be a long time coming until we figure out a way to protect the residents from cosmic rays. There are only 24 people (Apollo astronauts) who have traveled outside the Earth's protective magnetic field and all have shown increased rates of cardiac problems.
Until some organizational and mission details are publicized I'm going to curb my enthusiasm.
BTW, aliens are here in large numbers. They're called progs.

In times past we identified the need to dominate and control on land, at sea and then in the air to maintain our and our allies security. Who ever can access and if necessary control space will be able to dominate others on our planet. Each of these domains are large and have differing trade spaces, requiring different mindsets, solutions and missions. Having separate branches makes sense.

More flag officers jockeying for stars, and not the ones in space. Mofre administrative staffing. More construction of facilites. A great waste of money; great for flag waving publicity.

Yes, #14, I agree. Need more details on this. Not to dis my brothers in blue as I'm sure all services do this to one extent or another, but the AF has a knack for empire building. USEUCOM was established in the late 70s as a place for excess AF officers with the rationale that we needed an HQ for unilateral action. Apparently Central Army Group (USAREUR in peacetime) and Central Air Forces (USAFE) couldn't have spun off some task groups. Way before that, DIA was established as an AF heavy organization because they had the recon assets during the Cuban missile crises. Now they are part and parcel of the 17 member bloated IC.
