Washington—Hand gestures flashed by West Point cadets and Naval Academy midshipmen during the televised Army-Navy football game were not racist signals, military investigations have concluded. A Navy probe of the event found that the students were participating in a “sophomoric game” on Saturday and had no racist intent. An Army statement Friday also rejected any racist overtones, saying the hand gestures were “not associated with ideologies or movements that are contrary to the Army values.” The Navy said officials are, however, disappointed in the immature behavior of the students and “their actions will be appropriately addressed.” There were no details
Is this worthy of more than one second of investigation?

However, Pentagon officials will require all attendees to undergo sensitivity training to be sure this never happens again.

How is it that someone has decided the OK or WELL DONE hand signal is racist?

Maybe not everyone knows of your gestures and meanings and are doing their own thing?! You can't assume it's always "bad" stuff. Not everyone thinks hateful ways all the time! Also, the hand gesture described as an upside down "ok" sign is not a sign language "P".... if they were using ASL, that shape is actually an "F". Quit making something out of nothing!

How long will it be before they claim a military salute is racist?

Ditto, #2. My parents as well as my USN Cdr. brothers, my sister and my husband. Their blood was red, white and blue. Their unshakable faith might have tottered a little bit, too. President Trump, IMHO, was heaven-sent to us at this time. ''For such a time as this.'' Esther 4:14.

I don't know who is dumber. The students playing the game or the "Journalists" who assumed and reported it was a racist hand gesture.

Yet the morons at ESPN have a scroll that says "No information about what punishment the students are facing." Just stunning bias and stupidity.

If white supremests adopted the military salute, would it be racist for the military to continue using it? What if they adopted the peace sign (“V”)? What if they adopted the “high five,” the ordinary hand shake, winking, the middle finger, thumbs up or down, head scratching, nose picking...Do they get to own every gesture? Can’t we just ignore them?

This is idiotic. It was unworthy of an investigation. When I lived in the middle east as a teenager, we were warned that it was a gay signal over there and we should never use it. Here it means OK. Somewhere else it may mean something else. Who really cares?

I'm relieved that they solved that one. We might have had to shut down both academies until the problem was resolved and the offenders arrested. Hopefully nobody was caught wearing a MAGA hat.

All racism, all the time. We elected a half-black community organizer to prove that America is past racism. This is how well it worked.

Lazy journ-o-lists forgot to spin this as a Trump administration coverup. Meanwhile, the military investigators had resources to examine this folly because the SPLC (a hate group) demanded it, yet failed to check out the Saudi pilot who went on an Islamic shooting spree at the Navy base in Pensacola, even after he praised the 9/11 attacks on social media before launching his spree.
