Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell struck back Tuesday at his Democratic counterpart's calls for an in-depth impeachment trial featuring multiple new witnesses, dismissing the push as a "fishing expedition" that would set a "nightmarish precedent." "The Senate is meant to act as judge and jury, to hear a trial, not to re-run the entire fact-finding investigation because angry partisans rushed sloppily through it,” he said on the Senate floor.

Good to hear. Clearly McConnell is exactly correct. The fraudulent "impeachement" scam has absolutely zero basis in facts, so Schumer is desperate to at least dig around (fish around) and try to delay things and further muddy the waters with anything.
I keep hoping these worthless, cowardly Dems will find just a few honest men and women who can't go along with this unconstitutional fraud. But looking for honest, fair Dems in recent decades has been a nearly impossible search. If they stupidly, illegally do this travesty, we need the Senate to dump it in as rapid, as disrespectful, and as perfunctory way as possible. They cannot take this at all seriously beyond needing to make it go away as rapidly as is possible, and with a clear message to the Demonrats in the House that they are frauds.

All the Dems can do to Trump is continually harrass him with nuisances and distractions. After the 2020 election we can only hope that the Repubs have a 287 or higher majorityin the House-then we can expel members like Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, Waters. Gotta get out the vote in 2020 then We The People can use the Dems own weapons against them. Wouldn't that be nice?

Sounds as if Democrats are looking for an excuse to pull impeachment back to have a redo because they screwed it up. Of course then they will blame Republicans.

McConnell knew this would be coming, and counseled the President to be content with a down vote. A trial will allow the Dems to so confuse the issue with lies and innuendos that no good would come of it.
Better to dismiss impeachment as the sham that it is.

The message is clear, Chuckie, Mitch has the votes to uphold whatever process he desires and the RINOs are going to behave.

Well, gee, Chuckie, did Schiffhead work with McCarthy to “iron out procedures” for the House inquiry? No? Well, then, sit down and shut up.

By Schumer demanding that new "fact witnesses" be called to give evidence at the Senate trial; is he admitting that the House did a poor job of presenting their case for impeachment?

The House Democrats impeachment process was pure power politics devoid of fairness, due process and adherence to prior precedent.
Schumer wants the Senate Democrats to continue to play power politics except they lack the power to do so.
In his floor speech, McConnell did a masterful job of smacking down Schumer's pathetic attempt to dictate in the Senate in a fashion as was done in the House by Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler.

Largemouth Bass, the black congresswoman from California, said that the House can just keep on impeaching DJT forever.
She may be a bigger idiot than Marcia Fudge from Cleveland, also a black congresswoman.
