Former FBI Director James Comey admitted on "Fox News Sunday" that the recently released Justice Department Inspector General’s report on the launch of the FBI’s Russia investigation and their use of the surveillance process showed that he was "overconfident" when he defended his former agency's use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).This comes days after Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report and testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee detailed concerns that included 17 “significant errors and omissions” by the FBI’s investigative team when applying for a FISA warrant to monitor former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Horowitz referred “the entire chain of command” to the FBI and DOJ for

I made an exception to my edict of being a Fox News Sunday free household, and watched the interview.
The most peculiar thing I heard Coward Comey say, paraphrasing, was that the FBI had made much bigger mistakes than the Carter/FISA/Trump investigation.
Am I the only one who heard that?

The conclusion of the article: Comey said that "in general" he was unaware of "the particulars of the investigation" when it was going on, but said that as the person at the head of the FBI at the time, it still falls on him.
"I was responsible for this."
So St. Comey was just the poor innocent "I know nothing" director of this slimy mess. Still, as an honorable man, he takes responsibility for the honest mistakes of his inept underlings.
If only, Hillary had been elected none of this would have been necessary.

So Comey's domestic police force for the DNC was engaging in spying on a polticial opponent's presidential campaign and he didn't know much about it? Really? One of the most serious domestic spying programs with all types of rather poor 'safeguards' and he knew nothing? Nothing? Really? Sargent Schultz knew more about this Coup d'tat than Comey.

As Kelly Anne Conway pointed out yesterday regarding the so-called “Dossier” that Jim Comey appears to be still fawning over. The fancy French word “Dossier” is just their way of defining a load of crap. Americans should wake up to that!

He's responsible for this mess, by his own admission. He should be forced at the minimum to liquidate his assets and make restitution to the everyone who had to spend money to defend themselves from this attack by the federal government.

He just volunteered for prison time. I mean crimes were committed and he is taking 'responsibility' for those crimes, so he is asking for the sum total of sentencing to be served by him. FINALLY something I sort of agree with. The only difference is I want the others to serve time as well, but kudos for being the first in line for prison.

Comey knew everything that went on. He authorized it, signed off on it, was an active participant in the attempted coup of the POTUS. Comey brought the counter intelligence investigation into HQ's, interviewed Trump and made notes, then reported back to his team. Comey had his friend accessing the NSA database and reporting to him.

Comey apologized for the public naming of Carter Paige and nothing else. Sorta like apologizing for hanging and innocent man and then apologizing for revealing the hung one's name.

Comey should count his blessings as he lasted longer under President Trump than he would have under PIAPS!

I think Comey is backtracking by trying to pass off his illegal activities as poor judgement and incompetence.
