Virginia sheriff: We'll deputize law-abiding
citizens to counter state Dems' gun

A Virginia sheriff is vowing to take matters into his own hands and deputize residents if the state's Democratic lawmakers pass strict gun control legislation.“They will be properly vetted through a normal process. Everything from normal background checks that we do for other deputy sheriffs as well as psych [evaluations]. It’s not just a blanket policy of swearing-in anyone who is interested,” Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins told “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday.Jenkins made the vow during a Board of Supervisors meeting last week in which the panel unanimously agreed to declare the county a "Second Amendment Constitutional County."

There is a truism that is hitting the mainstream like a sledgehammer and has awakened a new understanding of the left and its methods. That truism is this: the left accuses others of doing precisely what the left is doing or has done. They accused Trump of doing exactly what Biden did. This trick has been on full display these past months. But there is another truism of the left that it is also necessary to understand. It is this: What are thought to be unintended consequences of leftist policies are really the INTENDED consequences. If you want to know the left’s intended result, just ask “what is the worst that could happen?” That is the intended result. Yes, they are that devious. Gun confiscation. What is the worst that could happen? Sure, leaving an unarmed population at the mercy of a government gone bad. But more granularly, gun confiscation would pit law abiding gun owners against the police charged with taking their weapons, driving a wedge between regular citizens and police. That is the intended result, not an unintended consequence. This sheriff sidesteps it beautifully.

Sheriff Scott Jenkins has just guaranteed that he will be re-elected Sheriff of Culpeper County for as long as he desires to hold that position. The observation that "all politics are local" is certainly going to be a thorn in the side of the progressive state government of Virginia.

Our totalitarian Marxist governor and his liberal Democrats in the Va. General Assembly will feel the wrath of an outraged citizenry when they try to strip Virginians of the God-Given Rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Virginia is the home of Washington, Jefferson and Madison and is the birthplace of American liberty and freedom from an oppressive government. The 2nd Amendment guarantees citizens the ability to strike out against oppressive government. Let's watch happens here.

Sheriff Jenkins you should consider at least one upstate NY deputy for your force. Every NY state pistol 'permit' holder has a complete set of fingerprints with photo, Federal, state and local police search, notarized testimonials from 7 non relatives as to sound mental judgment and a county judge's approval. I'd be proud to be a Virginia deputy on assignment North of the border. As another poster said, EVERY state needs a sheriff like this and outside of rat urban crime centers there are sheriffs like this. I hope this starts a national movement.

It's not about "taking matters into his own hands" because Sheriffs are authorized to do this. The Sheriff in my county in Pennsylvania took this action years ago when Obama was threatening the Second Amendment and promised to fight the Feds alongside us.

Perhaps if Democrats would momentarily shelve their obsession with Donald Trump, they’d comprehend the staggering abuse of power they’re defending these days. Because much of Tuesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing with DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz was jaw-dropping. Horowitz’s testimony, in fact, sounded little like the media depiction of the IG report only the day before. Most major outlets had stressed that the IG had found no bias in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. But failing to uncover explicit instances of bias and exonerating the FBI aren’t the same thing. Worse, most of the media had buried the lede. An honest headline would have read something like: “Obama’s FBI cooked up
