College student, 18, is beaten and
stabbed to death in savage mugging
by a 'group of thugs' while walking

An 18-year-old college student was stabbed to death on Wednesday afternoon in a New York City park, allegedly by a group of unidentified young men who mugged her then left her for dead. Tessa Majors, a freshman at Barnard College who was from Charlottesville, Virginia, was walking down a flight of steps into Morningside Park on West 116th Street on Wednesday when the young men approached her. According to police sources, they demanded money from her and stabbed her multiple times in the stomach, face, neck and under her arm, before fleeing. They say she appeared to have put up

This will redouble the resolve of Barnard College to push its "the patriarchy" and "systemic racism" rhetoric, which enables and excuses crimes just like this one. Their Marxist lies encourage naïve young women to feel perfectly safe among Oppressed-Americans who live in housing projects (the one mentioned here is said to be a known hub of criminal activity, perhaps because of the heavy burden of slavery), and for "thugs" to carry giant chips on their shoulders against Pale People of Privilege (thanks, Obama).

To OP's comments, I would add that feminazis and their "Gurlz Rule" BS have convinced young women that they're invincible and they're the match for any man. The sunset in NYC yesterday was 4:28 p.m. This poor girl was out alone one hour after sunset. Risky for any woman in a big city. She paid dearly for that lack of caution.

Morningside Park has been a deathtrap after dark since I was a teenager in NYC in the 1960's. We avoided it then, and it should be avoided now. Way too many feral animals still live nearby and hunt for "marks" there.

Adding to #5. I graduated from Pitt 49 years ago; the campus is located in what is a sketchy part of the city. I remember when I first got there the university brought a self defense expert into the women's dorm to talk about staying safe in the area. He reminded us that there is safety in numbers and we should never be out alone near or after dark. I took that tip seriously and as a result never had one bit of trouble. I have a friend whose son went to Duquesne about 10 years ago and his school also warned its students to be careful. While these schools issued warnings it is up to the students to take them seriously and not to think they're invincible. Of course this is how universities behaved in the past. They seem to be giving students a whole new set of ideas now, none of which concern their safety.

The racist ( anti Irish ) Sullivan Law mindset of NYC/NY state government claims another victim. Where are the feminists? Shouldn't simple logic motivate them to demand that women be 'allowed' the only effective means of self defense for them when facing a larger male or group, a gun? In fact where is the ACLU to stand up for all individuals right of self defense using a tool described in our governing Constitution? Never mind. Every rat you know and every smug liberal you know would rather sacrifice about 300 innocent victims EVERY year in NYC, to their illegal disarming of citizens with no criminal record. Of course the evil media who love death by illegal firearms side with the dictators. They only have this power because too many give it to them. Vote them out every chance you get.

Take away guns and criminals will use knives. This is a very sad story. This young girl--yes, only a girl-- was just 18. It was 5:30 in the afternoon, dark but usually a busy time as people are leaving work and heading home. She was just a short distance from a university guard station. I don't think you can blame her in any way. What can be blamed is the laxity in law enforcement since the ultra-left wing DeBlasio took over. No more stop and frisk, no more holding people who can't afford bail. Add to that the canonization of the feral teenagers who confessed to raping the Central Park jogger but were later set free. No wonder criminals think they can get away with anything.

That means they came to the U.S. while pregnant on short-term visas for the express purpose of giving birth and earning their child immediate citizenship.(Snip) And that’s all in addition to nearly 300,000

Perhaps if Democrats would momentarily shelve their obsession with Donald Trump, they’d comprehend the staggering abuse of power they’re defending these days. Because much of Tuesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing with DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz was jaw-dropping. Horowitz’s testimony, in fact, sounded little like the media depiction of the IG report only the day before. Most major outlets had stressed that the IG had found no bias in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. But failing to uncover explicit instances of bias and exonerating the FBI aren’t the same thing. Worse, most of the media had buried the lede.
