AOC’s ‘Free Stuff’ As ‘Public
Goods’ Is An Old Socialist Game

The political left has long tried to hide its true intentions and character through the use of euphemisms. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has learned to play the game as well as anyone. She has demanded that taxpayer-funded handouts be considered “public goods.” It’s a convenient justification for taking the property of productive Americans and giving it to those who have more political favor. “People like to say, ‘Oh, this is about free stuff,'” the New York Democrat said at a Bronx town hall meeting over the weekend, before Thanksgiving. But “this is not about free stuff,” she said. “These are public goods. They’re public goods.

The other waitresses tips that AOC stole must have been "public goods" as well.

I wonder when she will start giving away all that designer clothes and millions of dollars of campaign funds to the poor, because it's 'public ' stuff?

Chakrabarti gave up on mentoring this wooden headed princess so somebody else must have assumed the job. She does not have the capacity to think up this stuff on her own. We can only hope that her constituents have figured out that she is incapable of dressing herself but since they are the same people who put her into office, I seriously doubt it.

Remember when President Barack Obama was running around telling everyone how he’d convinced China to get serious about cutting its carbon dioxide emissions? A new report shows that Obama was easily duped. Over the course of three years, Obama met with Chinese President Xi Jinping to, he said, agree to “climate targets” (in 2014), “lay out additional actions” (in 2015), and sign the Paris Agreement (2016). In typical Obama understatement, he declared that “we may see this as the moment that we finally decided to save our planet.” Of course, anyone who looked at what China was promising could see that it was a sucker’s bet.

Gordon Sondland isn't backing down. The U.S. ambassador to the EU, who has been at the center of Donald Trump's impeachment scandal in Washington, has no intention of resigning over allegations of sexual misconduct, a close associate said Thursday. Sondland has flatly denied the accusations, made by three women, who allege he engaged in inappropriate behavior years before he was named Trump's envoy to the EU. "No intention of resigning," the associate said, in response to a question about whether Sondland believed he could still work effectively as a diplomat in Brussels given the distractions of the impeachment process,

The latest polls show the public turning against the Democrats’ attempt to remove President Donald Trump from office. The party’s presidential field looks weaker by the day. Trump’s approval rating is tied with what President Barack Obama’s was at the same point in his first term. And the economy keeps chugging along. Wasn’t Trump supposed to be packing his bags by now? Start with the impeachment polls. Whatever hopes Democrats had of removing Trump from office, or even significantly damaging his reelection hopes, appear to be fading – a fact even the mainstream media is having to admit. The Hill reported on Sunday that, “New public opinion polls

The impeachment circus has begun – and President Trump must take advantage of a unique opportunity to seize the center ring. Not another wave of off-the-wall tweets. Not another raucous, ranting rally. Rather, the most powerful public relations tool of his office: the nationally televised presidential address. No other platform packs the punch of a speech from behind the Resolute Desk. The Oval Office setting would underscore Trump’s role as chief executive, commander in chief and head of state, against whom a highly politicized impeachment should not be undertaken cavalierly. It separates the gravity of the office from

With former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg possibly entering the presidential race, some Never Trumpers nervous about the Democrats’ leftward shift might feel like they have a candidate they can now support. They shouldn’t. Bloomberg was a Republican-in-name-only mayor who governed as a freedom-suppressing authoritarian. Bloomberg has done nothing more than file for the Alabama Democratic primary election and he’s already six points ahead of President Donald Trump, 43-37, in a hypothetical general election matchup, according to Morning Consult/Politico poll. But some Democratic candidates have expressed their opposition to his candidacy. He’s too rich. He’s too late.

Warren’s ‘Medicare For All’ Should Scare You

When Sen. Elizabeth Warren released details on how she’d pay for the $34 trillion Medicare for All plan, she said that it would “make plain the choice facing the American people.” She’s right about that. The choice she’s offering would not only destroy two industries and cause an economic catastrophe, it would give the federal government unprecedented control over the decisions of private industry. Warren was forced into releasing payment details because she kept refusing to say whether her Medicare for All plan would require tax hikes on the middle class. In order to continue that fiction, Warren produced a document that even the left says is wildly unrealistic.

New battleground state polls sent tremors through Democratic circles Monday, underlining that President Trump is in with a fighting chance of reelection despite his mediocre national standing. The polls, from the New York Times and Siena College, tested the three leading Democratic 2020 candidates — former Vice President Joe Biden, and Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) — against Trump in the six states that Trump carried by the narrowest margins in 2016. Those states are Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin

The mainstream press has been oddly incurious about the identity of the “whistleblower” who got the Trump impeachment train rolling. Now we know the reason why. Real Clear Politics on Wednesday published a bombshell account by investigative reporter Paul Sperry, who says that the identity of the so-called whistleblower “has been an open secret inside the Beltway.” There’s even a 40-page research dossier floating around on him compiled by former colleagues. It turns out that the person who wrote the second-hand, factually inaccurate account of President Donald Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky isn’t just some careerist,

Democrats are furious they were not told ahead of time about the raid that killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and are now pressing for a full briefing on what happened. Trump and his deputies have defended the decision not to notify Democrats, accusing them of leaking. And two of the president’s top Republican allies said Monday they too were not told in advance of the raid. But Democrats say Trump’s failure to brief them ahead of the operation is part of a pattern evident since he announced he was withdrawing U.S. troops from northern Syria earlier this month. “For almost a month now, we’ve been requesting an all-senators briefing

If Sen. Elizabeth Warren got her way and the Senate filibuster were eliminated, it’s likely Congress already would have gutted Obamacare, allocated billions of more dollars to President Trump’s border wall and even erased the Massachusetts Democrat’s own brainchild idea, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which grew out of the Wall Street collapse a decade ago. Republicans love to warn Democrats of those outcomes, yet Ms. Warren remains one of the most prominent warriors looking to end the 60-vote filibuster threshold in the Senate, saying it’s doing more harm than good to liberals’ agenda.

In the upside-down world of Washington politics, President Donald Trump appears to be fixing Obamacare, while Democrats are running around the country dismissing it as a horrible failure. The latest evidence of the former is that Obamacare premiums are set to drop 4% next year, after declining 1.5% last year, according to a report released by the Health and Human Services Department this week. This comes after five straight years of huge increases, during which Obamacare premiums more than doubled. The news is so remarkable that even the Washington Post had to admit that “Obamacare is getting more affordable under the Trump administration.”

It’s one of the questions you’re not supposed to ask in public but everyone talks about in private: What’s going on with Matt Drudge? For conservatives, the Drudge Report was a one-stop shop for news on the Internet starting in the late 1990s. When Matt first broke the scandal involving the President of the United States and an intern, his place at the top of alternative media, as it was called then, was secured. As always, imitators followed. But none came close to combing as many news outlets and boiling down the essence of stories like Drudge. That was his magic – he’d plow through stories and

The liberal paper’s fashion critic Robin Givhan wrote a piece headlined, “Melania Trump’s Christmas decorations are lovely, but that coat looks ridiculous,” which criticizes the outfit the first lady wore when unveiling the décor.

Next year, Democrats will control both houses of Virginia’s state Legislature as well as its governorship. On November 18, State Sen. Dick Saslaw introduced a bill that he will sponsor in the 2020 legislative session. That bill will outlaw not only the sale or transfer but also the possession of certain firearms. Saslaw’s bill — SB 16 — provides that “It is unlawful for any person to import, sell, manufacture, purchase, possess or transport an assault firearm” and makes such actions a Class 6 felony. (In Virginia, Class 6 felonies are punishable by imprisonment for between one and five years.)

Democrats were outraged in 2016 when Hillary Clinton won the popular vote but Donald Trump won the electoral college and the presidency. (Photo/Tweet)

I watched one recently made by a man defending the Electoral College because he lives in flyover country. He made a lot of sense and clearly understands why the Founding Fathers wrote it into the Constitution. The rants coming from the Democrats running for office clearly show that none of them studied civics in school. "You've got two candidates for the presidency who are socialists and along comes this man who is ... the 11th richest person in the world ... so you've got the socialists, going up against the billionaires. That is a totally divided party."
