A team of UK scholars have fired back at unscientific claims by PETA and other groups that veganism is a “greener” option that eating meat, insisting that meat has “massive social benefits.” Speaking at a panel in central London, scientists from the University of Edinburgh and Scotland’s Rural College argued that eating meat is crucial for the physical and mental health of children, especially in developing countries, adding that that alternatives to livestock farming would not improve land use. “We feel that while livestock production has a range of economic, social and environmental costs and benefits, the costs have perhaps been receiving far more attention recently than some of the benefits,”

Liberals are full of lifestyle choices they would love to impose on the rest of us. We should all become weaponless vegan drones who do not drive cars, fly in airplanes, run air conditioning, or dare to bring home more money than our neighbor. These are all privileges that our rulers would enjoy. In some countries they call this communism.

#1, beautifully put. Those who dream of having the Earth to themselves while the few they choose as servants/slaves live in hovels and eat dirt are called communists. The would-be slaves who think this is noble are called useful idiots or college students.

#1, don’t forget “transgenderism”. These days the left gives special privileges and right to those who look in their underpants and have no idea what they are seeing and what it means. They’ve already told us that heterosexuality is bad for the planet because it causes new humans to be created.

In many areas of the world our ancestors had no choice but to rely on animals for food and clothing. Eating meat is a far better alternative than starving to death. However, there have also been many populations that had very little animal protein in their diet and thrived. I really hate the term vegan as it connotes a radical environmentalist and extreme animal rights agenda. There is another term called whole food plant based which I subscribe too. There are many studies showing how populations such as Japan and China developed skyrocketing rates of heart disease, cancer and diabetes as they adopt the western diet which means more meat at the expense of carbs. Rather than just looking for articles that rationalize your unhealthy diet choices, why not do a deep dive into the medical research of which there is vast amount. Why not see if there is a diet out there that has proven to reverse even the most serious cases of heart disease. Answer, there is and it isn't keto. In fact there are three plant based programs for heart disease reversa that after decades of patient trials, Medicare has approved them for coverage. I really am not that bothered by people eating themselves into an early grave except it is responsible for a huge percentage of our healthcare costs. And in our massive welfare state that means much higher taxes to me.

There's a basic nutrient that's essential for good health that is routinely left out of this discussion (e.g. #8), and that's free choice. Removing freedom from life removes much of the motivation for living. And from my perspective, eating is about more than just the support of physical health. Some people consider the social element of meals to be essential, and some consider the pleasure of eating to be just as important as the nutrition element (if not more so). I get fed up to here with people having very serious discussions about what I should eat. Let consumers know what they are eating (i.e. no hiding whether the meat is natural or artificial), and let them decide for themselves what to eat.

They are not liberals...they are leftists and nothing they stand for is anywhere near liberal. Leftism is all about getting power and control. True liberals believe in freedom, equality and individual inalienable rights...our Founders' ideals. These leftists do not. We need to stop using the misnomer "liberal" as it only helps the left continue to mislead the public as to their true intentions. That said, not all people synthesize vegetable iron as well as meat iron. I tried not eating meat and tried supplementing iron but I would always become anemic. I have to eat meat. Besides I like it. We are omnivores--not herbivores. These controlling leftists need to stop trying to dictate people's lives. We are supposed to have a free county--not a Stalinist dictatorship.

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee are calling for the panel to expand its list of witnesses ahead of the Dec. 4 hearing it will hold in the House’s impeachment investigation into President Trump. Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), the ranking member of the judiciary panel, sent a letter to Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.). demanding that he expand the panel beyond the four constitutional law scholars from whom the committee plans to hear. “To ensure fairness and restore integrity to the ongoing impeachment process, I request an expanded panel and a balanced composition of academic witnesses to opine on the subject matter at issue during the hearing,” he wrote.

On Nov. 14, the Alliance Defending Freedom filed a lawsuit on behalf of several pro-life pregnancy centers and a church to hopefully strike down the law, which clearly violates the First Amendment rights of religious people.
