The True Story of the First Thanksgiving

Original Article

Millions of school children have been taught the revisionist history that the first Thanksgiving was about the Pilgrims giving thanks to their Indian neighbors for saving them from starvation. Around this time each year, a historically accurate account of the first Thanksgiving is told on national radio. A few years ago, I compiled a lightly-edited transcript of that account, which appears below. Please enjoy and share The True Story of the First Thanksgiving, as narrated each November by conservative radio host, Rush Limbaugh, owner and operator of the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.

Comments:

As old as I am I have never heard this true story, and even at my age today I am grateful because if it is spread among the Internet followers it may become a crucial conservative factoid enhancing the desire to restore our country to it's original Glory under God.

I tell all the little children about the Mayflower Compact being the true first Communist Manifesto. We live in a town next to Plymouth, founded in 1627 seven years after the initial landing. I get to tell kids that socialism and communism were found to be unsustainable four hundred years ago and for that we should be thankful.

The first Thanksgiving occurred at what is now Berkeley Plantation in Virginia. After a few men made the harrowing trip from England arrived on December 4, 1619, the Margaret dropped anchor at the Berkeley site. Once, reaching shore, they knelt in prayer. The captain stated to the men, "We ordaine that this day of our ships arrival, at the place assigned for plantacon, in the land of Virginia, shall be yearly and perpetualy kept holy as a day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God." You can find the entire event at the Berkeley Plantation Virginia website. The plantation is a must see if planning a visit to Virginia. Happy Thanksgiving!

Rush wrote a book about the true story of Thanksgiving "Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans". This is a delightful read - aimed at elementary school age. He's written several more in this series. A talking horse named Liberty that can transport Rush - a substitute teacher - and the school kids back in time to experience the events themselves. They make great Christmas presents. Rush's link at his store takes you to Amazon - buy from your local independent book store instead. I bought two of the Liberty plush horse - they are adorable. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Maybe if they taught history, our kids wouldn't be so ignorant as to tear down statues. It pains my heart to know carpetbaggers have taken over Virginia.

Did a little research on bing.com and found this tidbit: "Every year on the first Sunday of November, Berkeley Plantation hosts the Virginia Thanksgiving Festival. This annual tradition dates back to 1619 when Captain John Woodlief and his crew of thirty-five men landed on the shores of the James River." Who knew?!

A neighbor down the street proudly placed solar panels on his house. He spent $4,000 after government subsidies and whatever deductions he may have taken from his income tax. He is confident that this move will save him tons of money on electricity and will safeguard the planet from global warming Armageddon by reducing his carbon footprint from fossil fuels. There is one fly in this perfect ointment—solar panels generate “tons of toxic waste” during the production process and during their disposal/replacement. The solar energy advocates, who only see cheap electricity with rose-colored glasses, are

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez owes the good people of America a huge public apology. It was the Drama Queen, known as AOC, who openly accused President Donald Trump of “caging” immigrant children—when it was her hero ex-President Barack Obama who caged the kids all the while. AOC not only fell hook line and sinker for the progressive propaganda that the Trump administration held the record for caging immigrant children at the US border, but used it for her own self aggrandizement. Shedding crocodile tears when she showed up at the southern border, the New York congressional freshman has referred to ICE detention facilities as “concentration camps”.

The late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s pedophilia is what has interested the media. But his own blog, which is still active even after his death, suggests what he and his fellow elites were really interested in. He called it “cutting edge science.” It is how the global elites intend to manage our lives. They already claim credit for “rewriting our global culture.” “Jeffrey Epstein is a former member of the Mind, Brain and Behavior Committee at Harvard, the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations, the New York Academy of Science and a former Rockefeller University Board Member,” his

The mass media faces its day of judgment on 9 December when Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz releases his report into alleged spying on American citizens conducted by the FBI during the 2016 election. The mass media has shown little interest in investigating allegations that an American citizen and Trump campaign staffer for a short period—Carter Page—and by extension—the Trump campaign Committee, candidate Trump, candidate designate Trump and then President Trump were spied on during:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s oft mentioned “prayers” for President Trump are far more hex and curse-like than prayerful. Pelosi, a Catholic who unabashedly advocates abortion, tosses the terms “prayer” and “prayerful” around almost as frequently as she and her Democrat colleagues screech: “Impeach!” Pelosi has long presented herself as “heartbroken and prayerful” as the

Who would have ever thought the United States could lose its way and find itself on a slippery slope to becoming a banana republic in which political power is typically determined by coups rather than elections? But it appears that many in the Democrat Party are willing to go down this road and risk the nation’s continuity and stability in a desperate effort to regain power and control. Since there is simply no greater crime against the United States, its Constitution and its people than subverting the government that is duly elected by the people, Americans need to clearly

It's always entertaining when famous actors or singers think that we -- normal people -- are curious to know their political views. I mean, we all know that members of Hollywood are generally radically liberal. If they take a political position, it's going to be in favor of abortion, against "climate change," or -- of course -- passionately anti-Trump. Case in point, this op-ed written by actor Robert Redford for NBC News. "We’re up against a crisis I never thought I’d see in my lifetime." Namely: "A dictator-like attack by President Donald Trump on everything this country stands for. As last week’s impeachment hearings made clear, our shared tolerance

'You see I say "himself" and "herself," because I also see myself as feminine as well as masculine,' he revealed. 'I’m a very soft person. I’m not afraid to show that side of myself.'

Biden’s lawyers argue that media organizations have been covering the case, and that the likelihood his personal financial records could “be used in an inappropriate or malicious manner for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with these proceedings

Bad weather on Thanksgiving week can be stressful in the best of circumstances. But this week’s outbreak of TV weather hysteria was a sight to behold. For days on end, even Trump news was booted from the top of the network evening newscasts by dire warnings of the “triple storm danger” heading across the country and the “holiday travel nightmare” likely to result. The reports hit all the usual TV-weather bases: shots of skidding cars and chugging snowplows; airport scenes of passengers stranded by flight delays; Al Roker bounding among the weather maps as though he were plotting a military operation. And, as always, the alarming statistics:

She must have looked good enough to eat. A jovial Joe Biden nipped his wife Jill’s finger onstage Saturday at a rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as she introduced him at the first stop of an eight-day, 800-mile road trip through the first-to-caucus state. As Jill Biden flung an arm wide to make a point, her husband theatrically dodged her hand — then, on a second pass, gave her a playful chomp on her fingertip. She took the nibble in stride, laughing along with a crowd of about 200 supporters.

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday launched his “No Malarkey” bus tour in Iowa, part of a bid to regain momentum among the state’s voters ahead of the nation’s first presidential caucuses. The frontrunner’s eight-day bus tour is part of an effort to sharpen his pitch before the Feb. 3 caucuses as polls have shown Biden slipping in the first-in-the-nation state. The tour will cover 18 counties and is a play on one of Biden’s most well-known phrases. Perhaps most notably it was used in his 2012 vice-presidential debate with then GOP VP hopeful Paul Ryan, when he told his rival that his criticism of the Obama administration’s foreign policy

As one can readily see, Hillary Clinton has been unable to recover from having lost the 2016 presidential election -- a self-inflicted wound that she will never cop to. Or, possibly, an act of divine intervention. She has come up with well over a dozen reasons for her defeat -- every one but the real one, i.e. she is a loser -- not just a sore loser, but a total loser. She is incredibly incompetent, fundamentally dishonest, and criminally corrupt, and these are her good qualities. In addition, she is bereft of a trace of integrity or character, has absolutely no judgment, and is devoid of people skills

The first Christians were not complainers, Pope Francis said Saturday, because “sad people are not Christians.” “We think of the first Christians, who had everyone against them, who were persecuted and yet they didn’t complain about the world,” the pope told participants in an international conference on evangelization taking place in Rome. “Reading the New Testament, we see that they were not concerned with defending themselves against an empire that put them to death, but with announcing Jesus, even at the cost of their lives,” he said. The pontiff also had strong words against defeatism and pessimism, urging his hearers to be joyful in witnessing to Christ.
