Here’s my slam-dunk choice for the Quote of the Year: “I want a trial.”The President of the United States said that Friday morning, and his title alone would be reason enough to make it the most significant thing said in 2019. But there’s much more to it because Donald Trump’s demand highlights the historically unique set of circumstances he and the nation face in 2020. As of now, the new year will feature an impeachment trial in the Senate followed by the presidential election. If Trump survives Democrats’ effort to remove him, he would be the first impeached president to face voters again.

I am not too sure of the Senate. The Republicans there have never shown much support for the President, but when the impeachment trial starts and the Republicans and Trump start subpoenaing their witness's Katy bar the door on Democrats.

There's a lot of money passed around in DC, billions, and it's not only the Rats that have their greedy hands out. PDT is going after the Deep State and all kinds of criminality in DC and I'm thinking there are some Republicans that had THEIR hands out for some of that illegal cash. Those are the ones to be leery of in the Senate if this sham gets there. I'm referring to RINO's and Never Trumpers.

Nancy Pelosi has two routes now to keep President Trump from having his wet dream of having a Senate Trial, which in an election year is bound to end up with Trump being found not guilty, as the wimpy Republican Senators will not voluntarily cave to the Democrats and essentially commit individual political suicide. So as a bailout, Pelosi could either ensure that the House impeachment vote fails by a couple of votes, or she could decide to hold an easier House vote to censure Trump instead of an impeachment vote. The ball is now in Pelosi’s Court, and as Trump always says, let’s see what happens!

Gee whiz, #2! The republicans in the Senate have solidly supported DJT's appointees to the federal courts, almost without exception! This represents the best route to preserve our republic.
You have got to start paying better attention here! (have a blessed Thanksgiving!)

If the quality of witlesses in the House is what will be presented in the Senate it will be more a trial of the Deep State than of Trump. Further, there will be no pile of Schiff to block honest questions and counter witnesses. You think it was embarrassing for the dems in the House? There will be carnage among the dems in the Senate. They are likely to lose some metaphorical arms and legs and maybe a couple of heads.
Can you imagine AG Barr being called to testify. He would eviscerate the dems whole process.
Not only will Trump win, it is possible that the dems whole approach to governing could be put on trial and debunked. With proper preparation, the dems election strategy could be destroyed as collateral damage while defending Trump. Remember how horrible Mueller came off in the end? This could be far worse for them. This can be a spotlight on how far the dems are willing to go, the damage they are willing to inflict on the Country, WITHOUT CAUSE OR EVIDENCE, to regain power. The dems could be crawling away with nothing.
As to concerns about the Senate, McConnell wants to remain in charge. He wants to remake the judiciary. None of that will continue without Trump. There is going to be enormous pressure for Republican Senators, even for Monsieur Pierre, to fall in line. Sure, there will be some sniping from a few but the votes will be with Trump. We might even pick up some dem support.

We keep hearing about all these strategies he has and all these aces up his sleeve. Ok, where are they? All I've seen for two years is the communists beating the tar out of him. He keeps getting up, but they keep beating.
In some places in the world, the winner puts the opposition against the wall and shoots them. Now I see why.

Hope PT isn't impeached. Want this farce to end. But would enjoy Quid Pro Joe being forced to take the Fifth Amendment.
