Evangelist Franklin Graham said Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy personally assured him that the company “remains committed to Christian values” after sparking backlash this week for ending donations to several Christian charities. “Has Chick-fil-A caved?” Mr. Graham wrote in a Facebook post Thursday. “I picked up the phone and called Dan Cathy.” Chick-fil-A outraged conservatives on Monday after announcing they were ending donations to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, The Salvation Army and Paul Anderson Youth Homes following years of criticism from the LGBTQ community for donating to faith-based groups that support traditional marriage.

Until Chick-fil-A explains themselves, we're right to be suspicious.

Baloney. They caved to pressure. It will win them no friends on the left. And it's made me re-think why I go out of my way to go to Chick-fil-A when there's a Popeye's chicken closer.

Their words to Dr. Graham ring hollow. I started going to CFA when they came under attack. Now, until CFA adds the Salvation Army back to their list of charities, I won' make the effort to go there..

Chik Fil A’s press release was crystal clear. I see what Franklin Graham is attempting to do but one only agrees with him if you didn’t read their statement. Franklin never addresses Salvation Army or Fellowship of Christian Athletes being cut from their donations list. This is a cave no matter how we wish it were not a cave.

With all respect to Graham..... Nope! Chick-fil-A caved to the loud and obnoxious one-percenters. I have started my personal boycott and will maintain it for the near future. I'll be watching.

Just lip service commitment - kind of like Joel Osteen represents Christianity.

What CFA did was give ammunition to the Lavender Mafia that they were right all along --- see? see? Even Chick-fil-A agrees with us that those nasty homophobes at FCA, Salvation Army, and PA Youth Homes don't deserve their charity. See? ---- Which is utter tosh.
What a stupid, stupid PR move by Chick-fil-A. I'm so disappointed they threw these fine organizations under the bus. Franklin, your assurances aside, yes, they did cave.

Hard to fathom how far is so naive, tone deaf and clueless. Do they not have a PR department! With this declaration they have alienated the 99% to attempt to appease the 1% of gay-Nazis. Dan and the Board need to issue in direct and plain English what they believe and what their values really are.

I bet their experienced PR people are retiring, and are being replaced by recent college graduates who actually believe the communist garbage they were taught. Lots of companies are doing the same asinine stuff in nearly the same way.

CfA caved!!! No ifs, ands, or buts!!!
I have been eating at CfA at least 2-3 times a week for the last few years. II have been known to drive 25-30 miles out of my way to go to a CfA for lunch. It was partially because of their yummy chicken sandwiches and great customer service. But it was far more because I wanted to support a company with sound moral values that matched my own.
CfA has never discriminated against any homosexual customer or employee. If they had, it would have made major news all over the MSM. But, no, they have always treated every employee and customer with respect!!!!
That is why this cave is so heartbreaking to so many of us. There was no reason to cave. Because of the support of people like me, they had moved up to I believe it is #3 on the list of most popular fast food restaurants -- and that is even with being closed on Sundays.
I may still eat at CfA if I am close and it is lunch time (because I really do like their sandwiches). But definitely not nearly as much. And will certainly never go out of my way to find one again!!!! They are still a good company, but a much weaker one in my eyes after this cave!!!!!

Used to love @ChickfilA but..The Fellowship of Christian Athletes received $1.65 million from them last year. The Salvation Army $115,000. The LGBTQ bullies *demanded* that Chick-fil-A stop contributing to these two Christian charities, annnnndddd...Chick-fil-A stopped.
But they say they did not cave? Right.
As for my family, we used to go our of our way for Chick-il-A. For us, they were the corporation with conviction.
Now... they're just chicken.

What could Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy possibly need "more" now that his chicken is selling so well? Does it mean that he can't expand into some areas or countries with his religious beliefs? So what if some other competitor gets more market share. He's been "blessed" to be where he is and should realize that the Lavender Mafia will treat him like they've done the bakery that was sued. So what?
We of Faith know that when one receives more, they will be challenged more. He seems to have failed this. The majority of places, like a well run and busy diner will never get the revenue he is making. To be fair, Chick-fil-A, like Wendy's food has always upset my stomach, so don't eat there. If he has to answer to a board, then the advice for the sake of profits is bad for his soul. And, it was the Salvation Army that gave me food when I was broke because unemployed and the economy was bad about rehiring an older guy.

If your ire rises to the level of boycotting Chick-Fil-A just because they decided to continue giving away their money . . . but to other hunger, education, and homeless charities besides the Salvation Army, consider this:
While the Salvation Army claims to recognize the “sanctity, unique dignity and respect” due to the “image of God” found in our unborn brethren, in a bizarre contradiction they also support abortion when:
- “carrying the pregnancy further seriously threatens the life of the mother”
- diagnostic procedures identify a fetal abnormality causing only a “very brief post-natal period”
- rape and incest are involved, representing a “special case for the consideration of termination”
Personally, I'd rather feed the homeless than pay for a woman to kill her baby because of any of these reasons.

The American Family Association sent CfA a petition. It is probably still up on their site.
I am one of the few that don't eat chicken or like the Salvation Army, but I respect Christian charity.
So sick of gays and liberals and their 'demands'

This was one of the most foolish PR moves in a good while. CFA could simply have announced that it was no longer giving to any organizations and been done with it, if that was the aim, but the lavender mafia would still complain that the company owners donate to people they deem undesirable. There's no possible way to satisfy people who are unsatisfied with themselves, to the point where they need special parades, a month of recognition, legal protections against criticizing them, etc.
